Trippy, strange

Featuring their new guitarist, the legendary Scott Mitchel Putuskey (ex-manson guitarist for 'Portrait of an American Family', 'Smells Like Children) Jack Off Jill comes back after releasing thier debut CD to put out an EP, filled with metal and techno influences that make your head spin. Sorry but i dont like techo remixes too much so i discounted points becuase of that. 'American Made' is an awesome remix, and so is the first remix of 'my Cat.' For the $6 i spent on this CD, it was well worth it for some of the good points of the CD, and just to complete my collection of Jack Off Jill CDs.
better than the album its based on!!!!!

this is a remix album from sexless demons and scars...though they should have put a new song on here just to make it more interesting....the best song is the final final bonus track and girlscout....its cool that they took my cat (a not very good song in the first place) and remixed a few times and its really good now ... and american made is a bad bad song i think and now its really listenable...on this ep joj sounds industrial almost but that a really good thing as joj proove
ooo, the beeping

decidedly an interesting twist on their songs, but a fun one! at moments this cd almost seems danceable, not something you'd expect at all from jack off jill, but in tandem with such folks as switchblade symphony and lords of acid, it's almost expected. the remixing varies in level and extremity, which is actually what makes this cd so wonderful, you aren't immersed in just another take on the whole ordeal, but a number of different takes, pushing a variety into the techno driven world of remixing. if there is only one complant to make about this cd, i'd say it's the structure of the songs, putting two secret tracks onto it ended up being decidedly annoying, especially since my player doesnt have a fastforward button! but, it's worth the waiting in silence for the final track, a gorgeously remixed cut of Covetous Creatures that you want to put on repeat.
Decent remix album, but needed more songs!

I like Jack Off Jill so I was pretty much assured I would find enjoyment in their remix album- I do enjoy it! But there should have been more songs remixed and remixing the songs ONLY ONCE. I love the first "My Cat" remix!
Dont be so damned narrowminded!

I acquired this CD after a friend bought and hated it ('errgh its all BEEPY'). Owning SD&S and CHGF I was really looking forward to hearing this JOJ release, especially as it featured Switchblade Symphony and Lords of Acid (2 of my favourite band-types). I certainly wasnt dissapointed! American Made (Tweaker) sticks to the guitar based feel of the original, but with the added bonus of super-gritty distortion. A really good remix, but what else would you expect from the producer of CHGF and Rasputina!. The only track i dont like on this CD is number 2, My Cat (Meow Mix), far too long and boring. The best has to be Girlscout(Sunday Mix) which totally reinterpretes the original (which is probably my favourite JOJ song) into a cold and spooky dark-dance piece. I also adore the Lords of Acid remix which throbs with techno beats and echoing vocals.
The final hidden track (a remix of covetous creature) is definately worth a mention as well. It is pounding and slow..sort-of like having your head crushed in a vice...in a very good way. Much better than the original.
In conclusion, if you like a bit of darkwave with your gRRl-MeTAl..get this album...worth suffering the mediocrity for the amazing bits. On the other hand, if the mere thought of dancing without suffering chronic neck injury fills you with dread, it might not be such a good idea.
