Collection of Occidental styles Submitted on: 2006-07-18 |

Most songs in this album show heavy Occidental influence. The most notorious are:
1. Jet Keisatsu:
Led Zeppelin.
2. Korega Watashi No Ikirumichi:
The Beatles
3. Cake Is Love:
Stevie Wonder
6. Lemon Kid:
Did you watch "Who framed Rogger Rabitt?" Remember the song Roger's wife sung?
7. Shoubijin
If you've heard Ozy Osbourne's "Center of Eternity", Pink Floyd's "Interestellar Overdrive", "Atom Heart Mother", "The Trial", and "High Hopes", you'll recognize the influences.
9. Tetsugaku
Again, this really reminds me of Pink Floyd's "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast"
10. Puffy de Rio:
Sounds like Mexican teenage soap opera music... With a little bit from Eric Clapton
12. Nagisa Ni Matsuwaru Etc
Pure Disco!
13. Mother
Has a certain Byrds' "Turn! Turn! Turn!" feel... |

The Best of The Best Submitted on: 2005-11-15 |

Puffy Amiyumi is a great band. But, if you want to get their best cd, this is the one to get. This CD really showcase Puffy Amiyumi's diverse collection of songs.
It is a must-have for any puffy amiyumi fan.
Note: "Cake is Love" is the BEST song is this CD; this song really stands out from the rest. I can listen to it over and over again! |

The greatest Puffy album and perhaps J-pop of all time! Submitted on: 2003-08-12 |
|
| Although some might say the more recent "Fever Fever" is their greatest album, I think "Jet" is just incredible. I had been an off-and-on J-pop fan for a while before this album came out, but one listen to this, and I knew I was in J-pop heaven. Every subsequent release including "Fever Fever" (good, but spotty) and "Spike" (hmmm...) seemed to be either trying to recapture the magic of "Jet" or diverge on some new styles that didn't quite work for me. If you're at all interested or like Puffy, this is THE album to get no matter how expensive. I easily listened to this at least 23 times...a week back in COLLEGE. |

Another classic example of great pop music Submitted on: 2001-10-27 |

| I have yet to find one Puffy cd that I do not like. With every Puffy purchase I am constantly blown away by the infectious melodies that this duo churns out. There really isn't any other pop act anywhere on this planet like Puffy who can meld various genres of music successfully and make it sound so refreshing in this day and age of disposable music. Although I have heard most of the songs on this cd from their best of compilation, there were a few songs I haven't heard before which makes it worth the price I paid for this cd. |
