 Mario Lanza, the man who sang with his soul

This is an extraordinary CD. Mario Lanza is at his best, with some of the most stunning interpretations in opera: the two André Chenier arias, the superb Otello with Licia Albanese and the Butterfly with Elaine Malbin !
This CD brought me back to rediscover Mario Lanza five years ago and to try to know more . It ended up with the Creation of the Opera Club de Paris Mario Lanza, the opening of a website ([...]), trips to Philadelphia to attend every first week end of november the finals of the The Lanza Ball (International Singing contest, some winners Juan Diego Flores, Joyce di Donato etc...). I buy regularly this CD and give it to friends, clients and I tell them: "listen to real singing,listen to a man who sang with his soul. Now go to the site and discover the most extraordinary voice and emotion ever" !
2009 will be the commemoration of Mario Lanza's passing on october 7, 1959 at the age of 38, and we will remind the world of the great artist;

| The late Mario Lanza had another great voice that is wonderful to listen to. This CD provides you with some of his hits. As a opera singer he surpassed many others and gave us his wonderful sounding voice. It's a real keeper to have. |

I am prejudiced toward Mario Lanza I think he had the best voice of
any opera tenor I have ever heard to date. He was by far the best
crossover singer in this category. I particulary wanted a recording of
Nessun Dorma by Mr. Lanza. The rest of the album is just as good. |

| This CD of mario is absolutely fabulous. It is the only recording I have managed to find of him singing Nessum Dorma. It is not to be missed. One of operas greatest. |
