Dont rag on it till you've had a good listen through Submitted on: 2002-07-27 |

| First of all.....Yes...It does sound like a lot of stuff....Lyrically, alot more so, but you know, I picked it up and I listened and I was kinda surprised by the Strangeness of it at first, but then I kinda gradually made my way through all the tracks. And I was almost blown away, it was a great Cd all the way through, Very complete. So dont knock it till youve given it a good listen through, and try to listen to them for there own music and not try to think of them as everything else thats out there, Its original enough to stand out in a crowd of so many. It deserves a 4 of 5 |

This sucks Submitted on: 2001-06-29 |

| This cd (stinks). It's not very good at all. "Ephedrine" is a decent song, and so is "Nanu". That's pretty much it. Everything else is ridiculously unoriginal and generic. Like "Peace Officer", it's sort of a Rage, Tool, and maybe Korn song all rolled all into one. I hate Korn, but let's just say that these guys are not even one millionth as good as the bands they imitate. They have very little talent. Peace Officer just makes me mad, because it's just so horrible and unoriginal. It's trying to be political, but it's just whiny crybaby (crud). I hate this cd. Nathan Wallace can't sing well at all either. |

| This cd could have been good if it came out about six years ago. Factory 81 obviously imitate other bands' sounds, and they don't do it too well. The singer tries a little too hard to sound like Chino (deftones) and Maynard (tool, a perfect circle). If you like listening to bands who sound like everyone else, then I guess this one's for you. |

Hardcore/Metal That Works Submitted on: 2000-10-26 |

| Yet another good band out of Detroit this year; we've gotten 20 Dead Flower Children, Taproot, and now Factory 81. Factory 81 blend hardcore punkish guitars that scream agony with speeded up drums and whisper to a scream vocals that are very good. A downside I see with this band are the lyrics, as they are poorly written (in my opinion) and need work. The lines of "I can't forgive you/you're not my friend" get tiresome after a while. Still, one cannot argue with the raw power they put forth. Throbbing basslines and punk drumming make up the superb rythmn section, already proving they are hugely talented musicians altogether. The band have recently been signed to Mojo Records (yes, the ska label) and have rereleased Mankind, as well as heading into the studio soon to record their major label debut. They are an amazing live band, and I hope to see them soon on stage again. They put a lot of energy into their shows, and you will not be disappointed. So overall, Mankind is a good CD, with a good combination of punk and metal, it just needs some work on the lyrics. A good purchase if you're getting into the semi underground scene of nu-metal. The best two songs off of here have to be 14 Left and Ephedrine. Also check out Trustfall, Professional Murder Music, Downset, Relative Ash, Ethynol, Amen, Nonpoint, and Superheist. |

This band is God in its musical form Submitted on: 2000-06-19 |

| I check out many bands on a daily basis, and I've never oncecome across another band that can top this one. Being in Californiareally shuts me out of the music scene in Detriot. I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot of awesome bands that come out of that region, but I've found one band from there that truly inspired my band to play like we just don't give a ( ). -Factory 81's fan #1 END |
