One of my all time favorites Submitted on: 2008-09-27 |

| I am so in love with this album, I have had it since it first came out and still listen to it whenever I can. Whether it be the hauntingly beautiful "Stay", the seductive "Let Me Enertain You", or the playful "Catwoman" this has something for everyone. The lyrics can be very thought provoking or just plain fun. I know I am going to catch some flack for this but I consider this to be a gothic band, not in the sense that everyone considers things to be now. Most of the newer stuff is closer to industrial, this is old school goth and is well worth the look. |

Bought It For One Song, Love It For More Submitted on: 2008-05-21 |

I bought this CD, because of the song "Stay." This CD came out while I was in England and it was hugely popular over there. What I didn't realize is there are several tracks on this CD that I heard, while I was in England.
These are good songs. The lyrics have a lot of intelligence to them, but they also have a lot of feelings. You can tell the songwriter put a lot of their expreinces into the music.
The lead singers are as opposite as you can get and they play off of this in the songs. Normally, with two lead singers their voices will blend together. Here their personalities shine through in the music and it just compliments each song.
I think if you enjoy Sarah McLaughlin (I hope I spelled her name right) and The Indigo Girls, you will like Shakespear's Sister. There more pop than Sara and Indigo, but really along the same lines. |

For just one song... Ugh! Submitted on: 2007-09-11 |
|
| NOT my kind of music. I could not find "Stay" as a single ANYWHERE. This album might appeal to heavy drug users or the lunatic fringe. Stay turned out to be a VERY expensive song... I guess that is why they came up with iTunes and buying just one song in the first place right? |

Nice Change Submitted on: 2007-03-09 |

| Weird, frothy but refreshing. Some catchy, some funny, some critical music. Just a nice change of pace from the usual. |

For a first time studio album, this one is great, considering the artist name and title of album.
Great tracks include: "Stay" and "Goodbye Cruel World"
A great oldies album to invest in! |
