I wish when labels decide to put a difinitive collection of an artist out, that they would really look at the product and the fans to make the best collection. Although this is basically in cronological order and mostly his Decca Records hits and LP tracks, it only includes 1 Epic single as the last song, After The Lovin'. If they took out some of the filler tracks, they could have easily replaced them with much stronger tracks and hits forgotton on Epic. That would have been a great selling point for an Ultimate Englebert! There was a track called Beautiful Baby that was not a single but became a fan favorite. As well as the #1 AC single This Moment In Time! Other important hit missing are I Believe In Miracles, Goodbye My Friend, Love's Only Love, Til You And Your Lover Are Lovers Again and perhaps the interesting single from 1996 Lesbian Seagull.

The reason why this 2-disc set is called "Gold" is because this collection contains every song Englebert Humperdinck has sung that has hit Gold or Platinum on the Billboard charts and every romantic love song that has made him a success over the 65 years in this business.

You can still hear his music on adult contemporary and pop radio stations, but today you can have it all in this CD set.

I'm surprised Englebert Humperdinck has never been chosen for a James Bond song.

He still tours the country and has announced a World Tour for 2011 for his new album, Released.

The music is superb. His voice has such range and volume and his love songs simply transport you to another place. Such a pleasure to be able to hear these songs again. This may be my favorite collection.

Really love the 1st cd. I listen to it all the time. The second cd is also quite good but the 1st cd has his old favourite songs pon it.

I happened to hear the song "Love Me With All of Your Heart" on the radio and was determined to find out if the rest of Englebert Humperdink's hits were of the same caliber. I was not dissappointed. From the plaintive opening song "Please Release Me" onwards, the quality of his magnificent soaring vocals and the excellent selection of songs means this has been on my MP3 player almost constantly. The second CD has a few seventies semi-disco numbers that are pretty forgettable, but to be able to say I like three quarters of the songs on a CD is pretty good going. I recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys romantic sixties ballads of this type. I feel sure you will not regret it if you take my advice.

Engelbert Humperdinck in my opinion, everything considered is absolutely the best crooner of all time. His voice was mellow and both masculine and broad in range. He captivated audiences with his voice and his stature. He didn't need to swing his hips and shake everything. He needed no frills. This album has many of his greatest all time hits and can be listened to over and over. Sadly he left the seen far to early and I haven't heard a better voice since. I highly recommend this album. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.

the c d was so full ot noies you could not enjoy the music I was very disapointed as we have always enjoied the artist and feel we were sent a bad cd.it would have cost us more money to send it back because you reture policy sucks.

This is a compilation of his best songs. It brings back lots of happy memories. You'll love it! Quality is very good.

This collection sat on my wishlist for a long time, and now I wonder why I waited. Everything -- Engelbert's voice and the song selections -- is warm -- even the sad, heartbreak songs. I didn't want to turn it off. And the value! It's a lot of music for the price.

Wow! If you want to hear singing done to perfection with both power and smoothness this is the album. It is becomong one of my favorites and the more i listen to it the better it gets. Engelbert is without a doubt one of the best vocalists to ever sing and this Cd will prove it. His range and vocal quality is almost perfection. I am sad i am just now discovering what a great singer he was. In a world that is full of mediocre singers with very little talent it is a treasured find to discover Engelbert who shows all others how its done. My personal favorites on this Cd are My World, A Place in the Sun and Love Me with All Your Heart of course After the Lovin but its hard to find more than two bad songs on all this double Cd 44 song collection. I highly recommend it. Love songs sung with power. One great vocalist and one great Cd.
