Jill Who? Submitted on: 2009-08-10 |

| This cd was a pleasant surprise. Neo soul has taken root. I'm as old school as they can get. There isn't much out there that can grab the ear of most of the true old schoolers. Cogragulations are in order here when it comes down to Jill Scott. Her debut was a smashing success. The whole cd was totally outstanding. The music on this cd has more of a jazz like sound to it than anything else. From "Long Walks" to "Is It the Way" this cd is timeless before its time. With DJ Jazzy Jeff as the producer it stands to reason. Jill is an artist who's best has yet to come. This cd is just the beginning of the tip of the iceburg. I just hope that she and DJ Jazzy Jeff stay together to bring us more of the soulful sounding music that ole skoolers like myself have grown to love. |

Came to impress Submitted on: 2009-04-14 |

| As important a female neo-soul debut as Miseducation or Baduizm, Scott excels on a personal level with listeners, transcending some of the blander arrangements with sheer charisma to deliver an encompassing relationship cycle which flows very well. |

| If you enjoy the sultry sounds of Floetry, Sade, Erika Badu, and other sexy poetic songs---you'll love this album by Jill Scott. After listening, you will definitely know who she is. |
