Lisa Angelle - More music please Submitted on: 2008-12-02 |

Starving for good country music it was a pleasure to find Lisa Angelle. She is all country, not a re-packaged pop star (Swift, along with no-talent Jewel and the like). Each and every cut on her CD is will written and thought out. Give me more, Give me more.
Thank you Lisa |

Where is Lisa Angelle? Submitted on: 2008-11-20 |

"But, even with the power of web search (Google), I can't find out why this was her last release and what became of such an amazing talent. I hope nothing tragic happened to her. The country music scene is a bit dimmer with her absence. Can anyone fill in that big blank?"
I, too, wish someone would fill in that big blank. Here it is more than eight years since this cd first saw the light of day and new fans are still discovering Lisa and her rare talent. Yet, I have NEVER seen someone disappear from sight so thoroughly!
I was a radio dj at WSOC-FM in Charlotte, NC, when I first met Lisa in 1985 when she was a writer for Tom Collins Music and recording for EMI America. She released several singles but received little notice. Moving to Los Angeles, she continued writing and recorded the theme for the tv series, BEAUTY & THE BEAST. In the mid to late 90's, she and Randy Travis were the first artists signed to DreamWorks/Nashville.
When the cd, LISA ANGELLE, previously titled TWISTED, was finally released, I thought it would mean a huge breakthrough for Lisa. Several singles and accompanying videos followed. But, sad to say, that final
breakthrough never happened. Then, NOTHING. She just disappeared. I contacted her producer/collaborator, Andrew Gold, and her father, a former radio dj in New Orleans, and even they had no explanation for her sudden & complete disappearance. Too bad because she was such a wonderfully talented singer-songwriter-musician. Not to mention, as a person she was warm, generous, caring, funny; the kind of person you couldn't help but love to be around. She lit up a room whenever she entered while turning every head in her direction. She was, and is, very special. And I just wish more people could have come to know her and appreciate her as I did.
It's wonderful that we still have her music and that people are, indeed, still discovering Lisa Angelle. So spread the word. And keep up those online searches. I will. |

LISA ANGELLE - CD - What amazing songs - OMG - WHAT A VOICE!!!! Submitted on: 2008-09-22 |

LISA ANGELLE - I just bought this cd - and it is already worn out! The songs are absolutely amazing! I LOVE THIS CD!!!! This girl has a voice that I can listen to for hours...and I do! What an incredible voice! Looking at the cd insert - Lisa Angelle wrote, produced and sang every song on here. HOW IN THE WORLD did DreamWorks allow
this cd to not be heard and marketed at its' release???
THIS IS A REAL WINNER!!! The music on this cd is timeless. And oh man - the song "SPARROW" and "I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW" and "SIN" and "I DON'T KNOW WHY" - good grief - they are what I call "standards!!!" HITS - to my ears - and my heart. Her voice and her words hit me dead center of my heart. And the songs like "Midnight Rodeo" and "Twisted" make me want to jump and dance! Yeah - she is gorgeous - but OMG - the music - the music - the music - the voice - the words - the soul!!! I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates originality and true talent. I will buy this one again when I wear this one out. LISA ANGELLE - THANK YOU! THANK YOU. MORE PLEASE!!! |

Soulful and Alluring Submitted on: 2008-09-18 |

This 2000 release is the only CD I've found from Lisa Angelle, a talented singer and songwriter, begging the question why only one? This is an outstanding effort from the New Orleans native; its songs are soulful and alluring, displaying both southern gospel and blues influences throughout. All the songs here were either written or co-written by Lisa, and they cover classic country themes.
My favorite songs are the ballads, especially "Sparrow'" a pleading, emotive gospel song with modern elements. Its an excellent choice to end this disk. "I Didn't Want To Know," "Sin," and the single "A Woman Gets Lonely" are also slower tunes which give Lisa the opportunity to display her sultry, enticing style. This CD represents the convergence of country and soul, so again I have to ask, Why didn't it sell better and why only one album? Lisa's not only a good singer and writer, but also has a sexy image somewhat reminiscent of Shania Twain. I would prefer to listen to Lisa.

Lisa Angelle - what became of her? Submitted on: 2008-09-07 |

| I agree with all the positive reviews of this lady's amazing voice and the arrangements. I found this CD in the used CDs bin - and mighty glad I did. But, even with the power of web search (Google), I can't find out why this was her last release and what became of such an amazing talent. I hope nothing tragic happened to her. The country music scene is a bit dimmer with her absence. Can anyone fill in that big blank? |
