NEW WAVE DANCE-PUNK MUSIC! Submitted on: 2009-10-27 |

| How can anybody who loves music not love this album? The music is synthy, catchy, fun, and somewhat intellectual in content. This is by far one of the better bands in this genre of music. Great album...probably their best. For fans of SHE WANTS REVENGE, WILLIAM CONTROL, JEFFREE STAR, and LADYTRON. >:) |

2 1/2
Like a polished version of a rawer predecessor, some, but not much of the influential underground dance-rock has stayed potent while the rest stays encased in fevered nostalgia for those with personal associations. |

Retro Sounds With a Touch of Electro Submitted on: 2009-03-15 |

I remember hearing or maybe seeing the name The Faint somewhere, I just don't remember where. Maybe it was on a trendy belt at Hot Topic or maybe it was on T-Shirt. I never gave them much thought because I thought they might be some new band with one good song and the rest of the album is pretty much unlistenable. At least it seems to be the case with most new bands. When I first got interested in music; which is as far as I can remember, I remember playing a whole album and atleast five songs where really good and the rest were alright. Now days, most new bands I don't really care for.
I heard the song "Glass Danse" on a playlist my DJ friend gave me months ago and I remember thinking "wow, this is really good." I heard a few snippets of the album and I was really excited. I thought album was really good!!! I'm huge fan of keyboards and I have to say, the synths sounds are execellent. The whole album just gives me an 80's vibe.
I love it when a band comes out of nowhere and blow me away. I ordered Wet From Birth and I will soon be ordering Fasciinatiion. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the 80's or that likes any type of electronic music. |

Danse Macabre Submitted on: 2008-12-30 |

| Since their first album, Media, the band has progressively been moving towards the new wave genre, and further away from it's post-hardcore and punk origins. Even now, after the release of their fifth album, it is still sounding more experimental and new wave than anything they'd previously made. However, at this point the band was not quite at the balance of electronica and indie rock that I like. The synths were constantly pounding--and don't get me wrong, I do like the sound--but it gets a little obnoxious after a while. At only nine songs, Danse Macabre lasts thirty-five minutes, only thirty-four seconds shorter than their longest album. It's also worth mentioning that this is the only album they've made that doesn't deal with casual sex, strip clubs, erections, the process of birth, or any of the other weird things they normally sing about. With the exception of violence... |

pioneers in the new millennium retro wave.... Submitted on: 2007-08-08 |

| Like The Killers, The Bravery, Shiny Toy Guns, HelloGoodbye, and The Sounds, The Faint brings us the vibes of The Cure, New Order, and other 80s new wave bands, with a nice mix of synth driven dance tracks (agenda suicide, glass danse, let the poison spill, your retro career melted, the conductor) and harder, alternative rock tracks. If you like the bands I mentioned, don't hesitate to this CD, their follow-up "Wet From Birth", and the remix CD of this album! |
