Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

Only way to get this album out of your head is with a shotgun

But you'd only want to do that if you were already planning on committing suicide. Goddamn is this album catchy! Oh yeah, and a little odd at that. Being it's the concept album of two long lost brothers, a pornographer named Cain and Fcuk(the Monk...ha!) who both end up dying. With that little tidbit out of the way, onto the music. Huh...only way to describe it...post black metal-ish art rock...The riffs create nice grooves and leads while chugging along at exactly the right times. The vocals vary between a raspy black metal screech, soaring clean vocals and spoken word that has a gothic tinge to it that reminds me a bit of Christian Death. Keyboards abound left and right, symphonic, jangly and organ like. The drums are punchy and right where they need to be. I haven't been able to stop listening to this album for the past week or so, and I don't expect to stop anytime soon. I will however check out the rest of their catalog, which I hear is far more experimental and is ever changing. Highly Recommended.
not as varied, but just as good

Although this album isn't as varied as "Neonism," it is still worth checking out. Lacking the progressive and experimental nature of their last album, this one utilizes the guitar more efficiently and incorporates even more clean vocals into the music. The Dani-type vocals are not present on this album, as Solefald apparently opted for a deeper black metal style vocal approach, which fits this music much better. Keyboards still abound but performed in a manner which only enhances the music rather than degrading its integrity. Great album by a great band.
