Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

Great Writing
Submitted on: 2007-08-24
This was my first ventur into the world of Nekromantix and I was not dissapointed at all. I bought this album because of Kim's affiliation with Horrorpops. I can see in Horrorpops where the writing came from. I have both Horrorpops CD's and four Nekromantix CD's. What I noticed about both bands is that the more you listen to them the better they get. Kim Nekroman is the man behind the writing and he is fantastic. He's hard driving and a little "popish" at the same time. Great "licks" everywhere in all these CD's. Buy them and listen to the darn things, over and over and over. Give 'em time.
Unholy marriage of the Misfits and the Stray Cats!
Submitted on: 2007-06-19
This is some of the better psychobilly out there. Like the review title says, this is like some marriage made in hell of the Misfits (Glenn Danzig-era) and the Stray Cats. The geetar is both twangy and thunderous. Each track is good; hard to pick out a favorite. This is also my first exposure to NEKROMANTIX, so I can't comment on their other albums. Highly recommended, get this or be fed upon by the Loving Dead!
Nekromantix Does It Again

Ok, this album is probably their best album... It is kind of hard to pick one. Return of the Loving Dead has everything. This album stays true to the psychobilly genre. They are still extremes in that area. Unlike Curse of the Coffin, Nekromantix did not try too hard and over do the psycho image (although i do not regret buying Curse of the Coffin). Nekroman is a beast on his bass, and the lyrics are great. The songs on this album are all in the same catagory, but somehow they cover a variety of feelings. When you are in the mood to just kinda rock out, there are songs that are very appealing, when you wanna hear/see something messed up and twisted... Oh yeah, you can get that on this album. And if you are in the mood for just moderation, there are a few songs for that, or you can basically just turn the volume down a little, except on the twisted ones! The album has some good length to it, and i would reccoment this album, and actually gaurentee that you will like it if you like bands such as, Tiger Army, Horrorpops, Nekromantix (duh), Koffin Kats, and The Misfits. If you ever liked any of the Nekromantix albums... then get this one. You will become a Nekro fan for life. If Nekromantix is new to you, then you might want to sample a few of their songs first (Who Killed The Cheerleader, Hellcat, Subculture Girl, and Nekronomicon... that should cover some of the variety)

Honestly... Get the album

Kick ass cd
Submitted on: 2006-04-02
I have been listening to the Nekromantix for years now and all I can say is that they can do no wrong. Every single cd they have made since debuting with Hellbound has been pure genius and alot of fun to listen to. Return of the Loving Dead is definetely no different. This is a cd that I can listen to from start to finish every single day. It starts out with Nice Day for a Resurrection which is one of my favorites then goes into one of their funniest songs called Who Killed the Cheerleader. Also on this cd is Subcultural Girl which is about Patricia, his wife and bassist/vocalist for HorrorPops(another great band, which Nekroman plays guitar for). Other stand out tracks for me were Gargoyles Over Copenhagen, Murder For Breakfast(a very funny song), Necronomicon, and Haunted Cathouse(my favorite song on the cd). Like I said this is a fast and fun psychobilly cd and on top of that Nekroman is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And for the guy that talked about the lyrics from Where Do Monsters Go. This style of music is not about making you think or intelligent lyrics. Leave rockabilly to those of us who appreciate rock and roll, horror movies, and kick ass music.
Great CD!
