Much better than the Neon Shark Submitted on: 2008-02-16 |

| I like this release much better than his first effort. The Shark cd was alot slower and a little boring for me. This one has better playing. Faster and more melodic. He shreds up a storm. From begining to end. I really liked the classical intro on Trapped In A Warm Feeling, Also the way it builds up to some amazing shred. Very happy with this cd. |

A more rounded, though not essential, release Submitted on: 2006-03-13 |

Alex Masi moves on from his previous 'Attack of the Neon Shark' effort and gets more musical, more experimental and full bodied, but also less focussed on this release.
The playing is adequate - no doubting the guys ability - but there is little on this disc that makes you want to explore further. Weird cover art too, not sure what he's trying to say but given that this is a totally instrumental release, he's probably not actually trying to say anything.
This gets three stars because the guy knows to show a little restraint, he is quite certainly not one of those guitarists who wants to fill up every bit of space on the disc with endless arpeggios and flying runs, even though he has the ability.
A decent instrumental guitar album to throw on in the background. |
