Awesome outlawz record(4 1/2 stars) Submitted on: 2005-08-20 |
|
| I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this album at a cd store, i had found an outlawz album that i have never even heard of in australia, and trust me this kinda music is underground over here and i dont see to many underground records. This album i liked the very second i listened to it, every song on it is listenable which is rare in albums. I highly recomend this albuym to any outlaw or tupac fans, T.A.S R.I.P |

Possibly 3.5 stars from 2 of the original Outlawz Submitted on: 2005-08-03 |

Kastro & Edi Amin have always rode together so why not put out an album together instead of 2 solo's. It is not as good as I thought it would be however. You get more of Edi Amin then Kastro (he is my favorite but it seems on all Outlawz albums he is the least represented as well as on collaborations with other artist, he usually is left out). Part of the reason may be the album came out 1 week prior to Young Noble's solo debut and 6 months after "Novakane" & 6 months before "Neva Surrender" so you got alot of the Outlawz in a year, and as with "Neva Surrender" alot of the track were recorded in the late 90's and aren't that new. Guests are on 7 of the songs and they rap on 6 of them. 1 or 2 of the songs are also on other albums. It has no classics but 6 songs are good or great, 6 are ok, and 1 I skip. Production is pretty good. Mike Dean, Edi Amin, and Jay Mac all do 2 songs, Mr. Lee, Rick Rock, Shorty B, Mike Mosley and 3 people I never heard of all do 1 song. A good album to have for fans of the Outlawz but not the best work from them.
#2 - 8.5 (also on "Neva Surrender")
#3 - 9
#4 - 7 (slower more whiny type song -- also on Young Noble & JT the Bigga Figga's "Street Warz" album)
#5 - 9 (nice beat)
#6 - 8 (f/ Dirty Bert)
#7 - 8.5 (f/ Yukmouth, Hellrazor, Napoleon, Young Noble)
#8 - 6.5
#9 - 8 (f/ Miko)
#10 - 7.5 (Edi Amin & Young Noble -- no Kastro)
#11 - 7 (f/ Jazze Pha)
#12 - 7.5
#13 - 4 (f/ tre)
#14 - 7 (f/ Big Syke & the Homie Wack Deuce)
EDI AMIN --- Malcolm Greenridge -- b. 7/7/76 -- b. New York, NY moved to Montclair, NJ
KASTRO --- Katari Cox -- b. 12/30/76 -- b. New York, NY moved to Montclair, NJ

Tightest Outlaw Release Since "Still I Rise" Submitted on: 2003-04-07 |
|
| When I bought this album, I was skeptical because Outlaw releases have been average since "Still I Rise", at least for the most part. This album, however, is real tight. I can honestly say that every track is good. The beats are nothing crazy or bouncy, and the flows are filled with the same emotion that the Outlawz came with during their run with Pac...This album deserves to be bought above any othe Outlaw Recordz releases. |
