Buenísimo! Submitted on: 2009-11-22 |

Spectacular, but not his best... Submitted on: 2009-08-24 |

Of course, every Juanes fan owns this record. It's not as hard as the ground-breaking as "Fijate Bien", but it's still a great CD with lots of great hits. He sounds less angry in this CD, like the touch of success has left him happier; a lot of artists seem to develop this type of feeling in their records after their first big record.
"A Dios Le Pido" was the biggest hit, and the video and marketing was designed to reflect that the song was about a woman, but it's not. Like all of his songs, political statements are always obvious or implied... this song is primarily about life, God, and country.
"Fotografia" was a huge hit, a duet with Portuguese (Azorean) artists Nelly Furtdao. As an Azorean myself, I found the song substandard. It's the poorest song on the record. Furtdado's voice in not nearly as evocative as Juanes', and at times it sounds like Juanes is singing with a bird. The song smacks of mediocrity. It's the only song on the record I always forward. Disappointing.
"La Historia de Juan" sounds autobiographical--it's haunting, the story of a street child. This song wasn't a hit in the United States, but it's the best one on the record. Reminiscent, complex, and hard to listen to, but a critic's darling.
For anyone who is just discovering this artist, this is a must-have album.

This is the BEST! Submitted on: 2009-07-04 |

| For those who don't know Juanes or his music: This is really good stuff. I'm not into Latin Music, generally. I love this CD. I bought it for the first track- A Dios Le Pido- GREAT song, btw- and was surprised to find the rest of the songs were just as good! It's the only CD I don't skip tracks on- I like all of the songs. Really a rare experience. Intricate guitar playing, great vocals, variety- each song is unique. Lyrics are wonderful- get the translations off the internet- topics range from love to the societal problems of his native Colombia (he has his own foundation for giving back to the country and providing humanitarian aid). It's poetic, interesting, deep, and fun- very enjoyable listening. There isn't anything out there quite like the sound of Juanes. |

Love it Submitted on: 2009-03-27 |

| Loved it the first time I listened to it and love it more and more each time I hear it again. My kids love it just as much as I do. It's become our traveling music. You'll love it to when you decide to get your own. |
