Beg To Differ...

I find it strange so few people like this album! I've been a Mike Oldfield fan since 1973, with Tubular Bells, and then "Hergest Ridge," which I still think is his ultimate masterpiece. As I've done with Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk - I've purchased every new release because of my loyalty to my favorite artists. I admit Mike Oldfield has had some less-than-wonderful releases and in the past 10 years I basically stopped buying them, like "Amarok" which I think is deplorable though many people somehow find it to be otherwise. After downloading the free original version of Hergest Ridge off the internet recently, my love for Oldfield's music was rekindled and I started buying several CDs I had passed on through the years, including Tres Lunas. Since receiving this CD, I find I'm am playing it most all the time and loving it more with each listen, especially the title track. I appreciate the fact that Mike has the right to go through his musical phases and I still think he's one of the greatest composers of my lifetime, but Tres Lunas has captivated me for the past three weeks, and I encourage everyone to give it a chance. Everything can't always be wonderful and perfect but Tres Lunas ranks up there, in my humble opinion, with some of Oldfield's best.
It's pretty wonderful

This, along with the PC game, is a definite masterpiece. All the sounds are soothing and atmospheric, taking you to distant, calm places. The PC game IS that world, enabling you to discover dozens of wondeful places; crystal caverns, deep seas...

All in all I recommend this to anybody who realizes that synthesizers don't make music bad, but instead enhance it.
Both the quality of recording and music are excellently

I very love this album. Both the quality of recording and music are excellently. Mike played the guitar with abundant thinking. I can feel the music belong to a man who has a crowded life.

My wife doesn't like Mike Oldfield's music. But she loves this album exceptionally.
what happened to Mike?

This is his weakest album ever since.even on his weak albums he wrote some tunes that were stayig in head more than 1 hour.here all songs are boring and sleepy...after 3 listenings you can't remember any catchy or nice riff (maybe except sweet "Return to origin").saimple and unoriginal new-age music.perfect for listening in expensive hotel elevators
What a lack of variety.....

ehmm...this is a horrible second league new age.i loved Mike for TUBULAR BELLS,FIVE MILES OUT and INCANTATIONS,this one is just a boring and annoying synth-programmed-electronic music without any special ideas.Mike eats his own tail.sorry, better record TUBULAR BELLS 4
