Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

not thier best, but definately a great album

While Believe is definately an overall good album, I think that The Sickness is still thier best work. Don't get me wrong, there are alot of really great tracks on this album. This is basically an album for people that did'nt really enjoy the heaviness of the first, but surely most Disturbed fans, such as myself, will definately appreciate it as it is. "Prayer", "Bound", "Rise", and "Devour" are my favorite tracks on here.
Great Album

I've just recently become a fan of this band when I stumbled upon the Indestructible album. Over the past few months I've gotten their four albums in reverse order. I must say I like them all. I still like Indestrutible and Ten Thousand Fists more, but this one rocks too in its own way. Can't get enough and can't wait for the next album! Way to go guys!
(3.5 stars) Definitely not their best album, but a nice slab of heavy music!

Being a huge fan of both "Ten Thousand Fists" and "Indestructible", it's interesting to compare how Disturbed has grown with those albums in comparison to this one, "Believe". I think that the band grew a lot since this album, but all in all, "Believe" is still a good hard-rock album.
I'm glad that I decided to listen to this album all the way through, because about halfway through I thought that all the songs were beginning to sound mediocre. Never mind that they were beginning to sound similar, because Disturbed songs can tend to sound similar to each other. However, I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars because even though the middle, 4 songs were weaker than the first and last 4, the first and last 4 were indeed good.
"Prayer" and "Liberate" are the two big hits off the album, both containing catchy rock grooves, nice melodies and heavy guitar riffs and drums. "Awaken" has some nice heavy guitar riffs throughout, with softer verses that build up, showing the band has skilled songwriting. The title track, "Believe", has a 3/4 rhythm, which gives the song a nice swaying feel to it and David's vocals are absolutely beautiful and melodic! But probably the biggest and certainly most pleasant surprise is the closing song, "Darkness". With most of the album being quite heavy, this ballad, featuring a strings section and a piano, with some of David's absolute best vocals ever...this song is a true work of musical art!
So while this album isn't Disturbed's best, it's certainly got quite a few songs on it that will be a great listen! Thanks for the time, and peace.
Could have been better

Disturbed seems to have lost their aggression here. Much different than The Sickness, Believe is a much softer album, and really that is all I can say about it. I got bored with it after the first two or three songs. It is by no means bad music, it just does not live up to the standards Disturbed set for themselves with The Sickness.
No sophomore slump for Disturbed

After "The Sickness", I'm not sure if anybody saw this album coming as far as the sound. David's voice really matured between records and it shows in the hits "Prayer" and "Remember". "Liberate", "Intoxication", and "Rise" are probably the most fast paced and heaviest songs you'll find on this record. One thing that I think probably shocked many people around the world was the closer on this album. "Darkness" has such a depressing lyrical meaning to it but at the same time is one of the most beautiful songs written. It gave me goosebumps when he reached the chorus. Very strong record. Although it is a new sound for Disturbed after "The Sickness" it proves to be a good change as this sound has stuck with them ever since and has brought them noting but success which is well deserved.
