I love remixes and redos Submitted on: 2008-05-08 |

| This album is full of remixes by DJ Sammy and a wonderful female vocalist. They are all hard trance, dancy and energetic. Songs include remixes of some great and famous rock songs such as Summer of 69. Great album from beginning to end. Many nose in the air trance listeners will say this is too poppy and mainstream but heck it's energetic, beautiful and well done. Highly recommended album, one of the best out there, next to Paul Oakenfold's Essential House 2 CD album with all the remixes of popular songs in it, such as songs by Garbage and Depeche Mode. |

Six years later, it's still one of the best albums I own (in any genre). Submitted on: 2008-04-09 |

DJ Sammy is a madly talented composer and producer. Those with an open-minded taste in music will instantly recognize this. As a fan of trance and eurodance, I must admit that I originally bought the album for its hit singles. But now that six years have passed, I continue to return to it for its less recognized (but equally well written) tunes, particularly "Beautiful Smile," "El Condor Pasa," and "Vive el Presente."
Sammy's style and overall sound is distinct. It's bright and flashy; there's no doubt about that. This can only be a good thing, as the theme of the album is "Heaven." The instrumentation sets the mood perfectly. I've never heard such a brilliant mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds on any album. The blending of bright pianos and acoustic guitars (as well as occasional ethnic instruments) with Sammy's signature bright synthesizers is perfect. There are a few instrumental-only tracks, but most of them contain vocals, which are quite good. However, it is important to note that the vocals are rarely featured - they simply provide an extra layer of melodic content to the overall composition. Once again, I find that Sammy's concept of balance is better than most other producers in the genre.
Above all else, I love the tonality of this album. Sammy is very good at twisting the chords from major to minor in the middle of a song. That is the most effective thing you can do in music, if you ask me. Combine that with the unique sound of Sammy, and you've got a great album. It's been one of my favorites for years. |

Simply Bad!! Submitted on: 2006-11-11 |
|
| When I heard "Heaven" I rushed to purchase this CD. Take "Heaven" as a prelude to what this CD is; a bad cover tunes album. "California Dreamin'" is so bad I could not get through half of it. And the original stuff is predictable and boring. Besides, who needs the "Bonus" slow version or "Heaven" anyway. Save your money. Download "Heaven" for a mere 99 cents. |

an awesome compilation and artist Submitted on: 2006-08-24 |

Being an eJay artist, it is only natural to be a fan of DJ Sammy. For DJ Sammy to be a former eJay artist, it explains why I and a lot of other eJay artists are huge fans of this talented musician.
A great listen if you like to put something new into your musical diet. |

Awesome "Softrock" Listening Submitted on: 2006-04-22 |

I orignially purchased this CD due to the song "Heaven" and was pleasantly surprised to find not only a video on the CD, but also was introduced to Eurodance music. This is a wonderful CD to relax with....enjoy.
Heaven - a remake of Bryan Adams popular 1985 Pop Hit, is actually sung by a beautiful young Dutch artist by the name of Dominique van Hulst. She is featured in the song's video of which is also on the DJ Sammy and Yanou featuring Do - CD. "Do" has several hit songs in the Netherlands and is very well known in Europe. She has had several CD-Singles. Her debut CD simply titled "Do", and a new release "Follow Me" is worth the trouble finding. I have purchased her CDs through on-line music stores found in the United Kingdom. Her voice is simply beautiful and her CDs are nothing less than awesome. Thanks DJ Sammy. |
