Buckethead!?!?! Submitted on: 2009-09-01 |

| This album just proves once and for all that Buckethead is the best guitar player of all time. And if you are skeptic of my declaration just listen for a minute. A lot of guitar players out there can play mindless dribble that count as a guitar solo, but few can keep people entertained with an album that is (mostly) acoustic. This album is (for better or worse) the perfect instrumental album. The songs are made up of guitar parts that are played primarily with acoustic guitars but are accompanied by backing parts played by electric guitars and probably synths (key boards.) In any case this album shows Buckethead's softer side and is a GREAT listen from beginning to end. And to all the people who know who he is strictly because of Guitar Hero 2 I strongly urge you to look into his other material such as Colma. Buckethead is, for all intents and purposes, the best guitar player of all time. He not only masters, but BENDS, all genres to his will. |

| I cannot say any more than what has already been said. I would however like to direct the folks who are curious about Buckethead to this album, as this and "Colma" always seem to be the ones recommended to newbies. Of course you will need to heed the warnings that this is unlike most of his music, which IMO is one of the aspects that makes Bucket so good. He's about as diverse as you can get within certain bounds. Now I am not saying this in a light way, but the more of his music I hear the more I'm convinced that he is simply a genius. With his extensive (that may not be a big enough description) works and his seemingly unlimited ability to produce any sound he can think of on guitar coupled with the willingness to actually produce the sounds without regard to what the general public might think. Whew! I'm out of breath after that one, but, not to get too deep here, I may not like everything he does but it well may be seminal to the stuff I do like. Okay, if I go any further we will all have to put on our waders. To sum up, yes this is a good album and you should also try his other stuff. That's about it. If you can't find it here check out TDRS, the home for a lot of Buckets' stuff. |

| Like the electric version (non-acoustic) of Colma in feel. Soothing and great melodies as well. |

I bought this DVD for my son but I have enjoyed it as much as he has!!! He does share it with me. He has several of Buckethead's DVDs and can't understand why he hadn't heard of him a long time ago - he is such an incredible guitar player. Thank you for being prompt with everything I have ordered from Amazon.com. You do a really great job.

Naptime CD for my preschool classroom Submitted on: 2007-07-11 |

I bought this cd after hearing it online for my preschool classroom to relax to at naptime. (I have other Buckethead tunes of my own that I listen to... his stuff with Bucket of Bernie Brains and his Les Claypool stuff, etc.)
Not to inflate my own ego or anything, but- talk about the coolest preschool teacher EVER! Ask around... I am sure you won't find another preschool teacher who has her kiddos listen to eclectic musicians like Buckethead at naptime... Only thing is, I have a tough time not falling asleep myself!
Great cd for kids, it's "appropriate" and relaxing and not mind numbing like repetitions of "twinkle, twinkle little star". |
