SOUNDS LIKE OZZY/SABBATH... WHO GIVES A RAT'S A** ! Submitted on: 2007-01-07 |
|
| Here is the common complaint you hear regarding sHEAVY... sounds just like Ozzy/Sabbath. I say who gives a rat's a**, this CD is fantastic! Not a bad track on this CD, and 'The Electric Sleep' and 'Celestial Hi-Fi' are also excellent. Also, even though sHEAVY's lyrics are in no way similar to Sabbath's, if Sabbath had actually put out this album it would have received high praise from fans and critics alike, and would have likely gone top 10 on the charts. However, it is real easy for a band to be labeled a "rip-off" and totally dismissed if they sound similar to another band. I say f*** that, if the music is first-rate I don't care if it is the original artist or the original artist's neighbor. If it rocks, it rocks, and sHEAVY rocks! Buy this CD and the other two CD's I mentioned, all three will become highly regarded additions to your music collection. |

Black Sabbath's missing album.... Submitted on: 2005-08-21 |

Of course these guys sound like Ozzy and Co., but they are not ripping off old Sabbath records. Instead, they are creating them.
"Synchronized" is the album that should have been in between the groovy "Sabatoge" and the almost unlistenable "Technical Ecstasy".
All in all a very nifty album, especially the title track which is on my list of greatest driving songs ever!

rocking album Submitted on: 2005-01-06 |

| Ok, I've listened to this album a few times now and feel I can write an informed review. I've been a fan for at least 5 years and find this album fits in with the others. I still like the other 2 albums more so far, but this one holds it's own. It's different from the other 2 in that I think it's a little less heavy and more experimental. I don't understand the reviews complaining about having too many effects on his voice; the only song with effects is "Set Phasers to Stun", unless he's running through effects all the time, which I don't know. His voice sounds just like it does on the other albums. Most vocals on albums are run through some kind of effect(s), but I doubt they would go so far as to "make" him sound like Ozzy. They are supposed to be touring in 2005 so we should get to see if he really sounds like Ozzy or if it's a studio creation. |

Just the music..... Submitted on: 2004-02-28 |
|
| I started out as a BIG fan of this group; and remain a huge fan of the music. My problem is that the vox sounds like Ozzy with a sinus infection. The more I listen, the less I can take it. What is the deal? The voice does not even sound human at times, as though it is overly filtered and processed. Is that necessary? As I said, the music and musicianship are fantastic.....but I can't get past the vocals; sorry guys! Lose the processing, and sing the music as it should be. There is only one Ozzy; do we really NEED another? |

This singer is no OZZY Submitted on: 2003-12-03 |

| For everyone that says this guy sounds like OZZY you must be out of your gourd. The music rules but I can't stand the overuse of effects put on the singer's voice. |
