RE: PORQUE COPIAN A LOS CHILENOS
Submitted on: 2008-07-24
I saw Vale Callampa was only four tracks, and did not even notice it was a tribute to Los Tres from Chile. I listened to the tracks probably twice, and I came to one conclusion - my perfect band existed, and it was Café Tacvba.

From start to finish, these four tracks are just ridiculously great. From Dejate Caer, which became the bands first big-time hit since La Ingrata (at least here in the US) to Olor a Gas (their interpretation of it just gives me goosebumps) to Amor Violento (the farting sounds, though some critics think are lame, are anything but) to Tirate (probably the only track that even remotely resembles what Los Tres did in the original interpretations). This EP is really, really good, especially when you consider that the Tacvbos probably assembled this really quickly only to appease their record label because they were taking longer than expected to release Cuatro Caminos.

Café Tacvba do not copy Chilenos. No one, and I mean NO ONE, has Ruben Albarran's voice or the band's imagination. Los Tres never reached what Café Tacvba made on their debut album, Café Tacvba, let alone what they have made in the 16 years since. If you enjoy music, getting these four tracks on your repertoire of songs would be a really wise choice. Highly, HIGHLY recommend it.

And for my Chilenian buddy who gave this album one star and thus ruined Café Tacvba's reign of 5 star albums, like J-Hova said, "you get only one bar - ..."

OYE ESTUPIDO, EN QUE CABEZA CABE QUE LOS TACUBAS QUERIAN IMITAR A ESA BANDA DE MIERDA QUE TIENEN "LOS TRES" QUE NADIE LOS CONOCE FUERA DE CHILE? QUE MIERDA TENES EN LA CABEZA? DEBERIAN AGRADECERLES A LOS TACUBAS QUE GRACIAS A ELLOS "LOS TRES" RESUCITARON - AUUNQUE NO DURARON MUCHO NI CON ESTA AYUDITA PUESTO QUE SU MUSICA SIGUE SIENDO UNA PORQUERIA - "LOS TRES" SOLO SACARON ESOS 4 TEMAS BUENOS EN SU DISCOGRAFIA DE 15 ALBUMS - QUE VERGUENZA! Y SOBRE LOS MOLOTOV: ESA ES UNA BOSTA MAS PASADA DE MODA QUE "LOS PRISIONEROS". METETE TUS MOLOTOV, TU PISCO Y TUS TRES EN EL CULO, ROTO CHILENO, CULIAO!

Very honored to see CAFE TACUBA pay homage to the now defunct band LOS TRES from Chile. They certainly selected some very good songs and only strengthened not only their friendship with Los Tres' lead singer Alvaro Henriquez, but also the links between the Mexican and Chilean rock scene. Los Tres lived in Mexico for a few years - Alvaro was married to JULIETA VENEGAS for a while - so the bonds are strong. Julieta often plays in Chile as well and from what I understand still enjoys a great friendship with Alvaro. She even played at the 30th Anniversary event in tribute to Chile's martyred president Salvador Allende. By the way, VALE CALLAMPA is a Chilean expression meaning "worthless" or "not worth it". It is considered vulgar but widely used. It literally means "worth mushrooms". Saludos a todos los chilenos y mexicanos - siempre unidos. :)

This cd is really good. However, it can not be play on a computer. It has one of those protection systems. So if you have an MP3 player and want to buy this cd and upload it, there'a a big chance you won't be able to.
