Martine - Fabulous as per usual Submitted on: 2003-07-30 |

| Martine is a star!! This album is for those who love music as she does. Moving away from her previous pop albums Martine delivers a beautiful collection of her favourite show songs. Due to her performances in London's West End a huge leap has been made in her vocal quality. She tackles songs made famous by her idols, Barbara and Liza, and matches them in ability, while adding her own personality and twists to the classics. She also manages to utilise her previous acting experience to create brilliant characters in "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend". The only let downs on this album are "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" where she seems to be reaching for the notes a little too much and "White Christmas" which seems well out of place. This however doesn't detract from her talent or the greatness of "Don't Rain On My Parade", "I Dreamed A Dream" and "Maybe This Time". Can't wait to see/hear more from her. |
