| I cannot believe that I haven't heard of Dar Williams until now. I have fallen in love with the title song and have tried to contact Ms. Williams for rights to use it in a film that I am producing. As usual, my delivery of the CD was quick and efficient! Thank you once again Amazon! |

| I purchased this CD for my sister, my oldest son, and even for myself. I play the music everyday and find it beautiful, melodic and reflective. This is a MUST HAVE CD. I had accidentally heard Dar Williams on a previous CD of various artists and decided to purchase this one with only her...what a treasure. Not sure about this one. She has a lot of talent. I've been listening to her music since her cover of Better Things off of The End of the Summer, which was very good. What do you hear in these sounds? is one of the best songs about therapy I've EVER heard
But most of the songs here don't really leave much of an impression. Closer to you is a good song, nice and catchy. But a lot of this music is incredibly sad, or at the very least melancholy
You gotta give her points for doing the Bands Whispering Pines, but a lot of these songs don't really move me, and most of the songs I never really wanna hear again

It's DVD-Audio, It's Not Supposed To Play On Your PC

Just stumbled across the inane "review" that was posted for "The Beauty of the Rain" DVD-Audio. DVD-A's aren't meant to be played on computers, so I don't see why Dar's excellent album should get a misleading one-star rating because the buyer erred with their purchase.
For those who have a compatible universal player, the DVD-A of this album is fantastic. You'll hear lots of musical details that you won't on the regular CD. |
