something there but what not LOA
Submitted on: 2007-12-20
I was real excited to here this upon listening I realized this would not measure up to my expectations but there was moment I thought a couple some may have been started with LOA and felt close but not the same effect at all. This cd is very good but not the momenteum I hoped for the second one is better but I think the reformed LOA was needed and definetly heavier but you may like this more than I.I'm curious but not impress or a big fan sorry Joey much respect!
Awesome Follow Up

This is a great 2nd cd. The only disappointment is, there hasn't been one since. My personal favorite is "Drop Down". The cd is heavier than the first, and easily as good. I won't say that every song is a winner, but neither was every song on the "Perfect Self" cd. "Show Me", "Fallen" and even "Coming Home" are great tunes. I like the lyrics on "Coming Home" and maybe that's why there hasn't been a 3rd cd.
A lot of crap came out in 2003 and I would say, this cd was one of the better metal (or whatever you've labelled it) cd's of this year.
Not as good as Perfect Self

The only other StereoMud CD I've listened to was "Perfect Self", and I bought this based on my appreciation for that CD. Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad release, but it just doesn't have the hooks to grip you like PS, which I would rate as a 4+ stars.

This Cd truly kicks shell,it has a differant sound then PerfectSelf, but still has that thrash sounding feel and the singer is awsome.Another good thing is EveryGivenMoment has guitar solos!AnythingButJesus is the most twisted song i've heard in awhile.
Disappointing My Ass...

Stereomud is the most underrated rock band ever. Their first cd was awesome and had a great grunge feel to it. With their 2nd cd they get a little more modernized and branch out w/ their lyrics. This cd is by no means a disappointing cd. 4.5/5

1. Show Me- 5/5: An awesome opener for the cd, crunchy guitars and Eric's emotional voice.

2. Anything But Jesus-4.5/5: Another well-crafted rock song. Really strong lyrics.

3. Breathing-5/5: I bought this cd after hearing this song, amazing single. Stereomud keeps it coming in heavy doses w/ this one.

4. Define This-4/5: A decent rocking track. The chorus is a bit slower paced than the verses, doesnt make it bad. Nice guitars though.

5. Control Freak-4.5/5: A really catchy and groovy song. The lyrics are good, Stereomud can write really great songs with breaks and build-ups. Theyre very underrated.

6. Drop Down- 5/5: The most aggressive track on the album. Awesome heavy cruching guitars with chugging bass following. Great singing.

7. Coming Home-4.5/5: A lot people dont like this song becuz it was written for his kids, but so was "Dont Be Afraid" from the 1st cd. A great song, whats cool about it is that the music doesnt let up.

8. Fallen-4/5:Another good song, doesnt stand out as much, but its nice. Swirling chorus and kinda creepyish backing vocals. Really nice though.

9. Yesterday-4.5/5: Stereomud continues with this good rock song. Its about the things that they learned from being together for so long. Its a good song, and people need to give it a chance.

10. My Addiction-4.5/5: A more atmospheric song which turns into a rocking song. Great musicanship, trademark vocals, everything about this band is great, really catchy.

11. Searching-5/5: I really enjoyed this song, Eric's vocal range is nice on this one. Once again awesome guitars and bass. Everything is good.

Every Given Moment is a cool cd. I was really looking forward to its release, and I wasnt disappointed. Give it a chance if you want some good rock music.
