Customer Reviews of This Album/CD |

Great Effort Submitted on: 2009-01-21 |

| I bought this because I've really liked the work that I've heard of Camu Tao. I had no idea what the disk would sound like, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really like the vibe of the album. It's more.. mainstream (?) sounding than most Def Jux stuff. Metro really sounds good. Some of the hooks are weak, but the production is really good overall and the guest spots are on point. I really dig this CD right now. |

Another great MC has fallen... Submitted on: 2008-11-20 |
|
| I had this album for a while, and like the rest of the reviews say... it is solid throughout. I just wanted to throw out there that one of the MCs from the group Camu Tao passed away earlier this year, and was recording a solo album at the time of his death. God bless your soul, and thank you for your flow. |

Good solid hip-hop. So many people kept saying "THIS ISN'T DEF JUX, WHAT IS THIS?"...
But I liked it. Maybe it's because I've seen 'em live and damn, they get you rowdy. I'm glad to see their doing their own thing. I've been a fan of CT for a while, with Megahertz and even the "Nighthawks" CD. This CD was definitely more than I was expecting.
Every track is pretty solid. I find myself cranking "Get Home", "Illy" and "Last Night" more than I expected. It's just good, solid, don't give a f*** music. |

SA Smash.......Trash the set!!! Submitted on: 2004-07-01 |

As with virtually all the DEF JUX releases this is as solid and reliable hiphop buy as you can get. The beats+production are on point and of the highest quality. The mc's in question are tight and original and always have something different to say. The mc's on this project METRO and CAMU TAO (yep the tight producer) are really good. As METRO is the rookie, somewhat, he hits every beat with that essential hunger+delivery every real mc needs. CAMU compliments his style perfectly as the skilled veteran. CAMU also produces over half the album and its unbelieveable. The album also is a good 65mins or so, so its not just thrown together. There's alot of brilliant tracks here but there's also 1 or 2 wack ones too. The best are "illy" (fantastic), "robot", "clout", "weird", "slide on 'em", "i know what you're thinking", and the powerful "jerseyed out". This is a straight forward, no nonsense, hard-hitting hiphop album with skilled mc's and hard beats so NOD YA HEAD AND ENJOY!!!! |
