fun, pop, dance brings out the Disco Child in you

My sexual preferance is streight, but i'm a DJ/MC i like to dance, girls with GLITZ, and i am ashamed to admit i like smooth disco dance sounds, and i like to mix-up my music with new sounds, So if you can admit to your audio perversion, like me, it is not great art but it is fun. so grab that foxy lady hit the floor, bounce it,bump your stuff, swing your load, is's ok to have some fun, really, you only go this way once, it's your dance...you do it! fun='s no hang ups. that said, enjoy Liberty X's smooth dance sounds.
Suprisingly GREAT

Was browsing iTunes one day and sampled a few songs, liked them, then purchased the whole CD. Had never heard of them, did not know who they were and I still don't. I LOVE it!!!! It is the perfect blend of Pop/R&B and Dance. The female vocals are great! All the songs are very catchy both musically and lyrically. All the songs on here are standouts. If you are looking for someone new to add to your collection, I highly recommend Liberty X!
Don't listen to the other reviewer! This is ace!

I loved Liberty X's first album "Thinking It Over" - it is one of my favourite albums of all time, and I never skip any tracks on it. This album will quickly join it in my top ten albums of all time. I picked it up yesterday (I imported it from overseas), and have listened to it about ten times already.
The previous reviewer said there were too many ballads on the album - whatever! Some people actually like ballads - like me. I think Liberty X do fantastic heartfelt ballads.
Track rundown:

1. Intro (Being Somebody)
This is honestly about 10 seconds long and completely pointless, so I won't rate it. Just a short introduction to the album.
2. Jumpin' (4/5)
Was the seond single released off the album, and is fantastic the first time you hear it. But if you listen to it too much it gets really annoying - hence my 4/5 rating. But it is very catchy, with the chanted 'uh-oh' getting caught in your head.
3. Being Nobody (5/5)
I love this song. It is billed as the first official single off the album and is with Richard X, who produced the track. It is fabulously catchy, with great vocals from Kelli and Jess.
4. Everybody Cries (5/5)
This is a brilliant version of this song! I downloaded this song before I got the album and it is completely different to this one. I definitely like this one better. The third single off the album, this is a whopping 4:58, but it's great. It's a song full of emotion and I love the lyrics. The ending is great too.
5. Watcha Doin' Tonite (5/5)
The first non single we hear - and it's very funky and upbeat, reminiscent of their last album. Jess does a GREAT job on this track, she sounds sensational. The song starts with whirring motors, and the X rap about cars and going to parties.
6. The Poet (5+/5)
I absolutely LOVE this track! It's sooooo ace. This song should have been released instead of "Everybody Cries", it would have done much better. It's a emotion filled song about a girl who gets a poem read to her by her boyfriend, who claimed he wrote it, when he just stole it off somebody. The chorus is very sexy with the lyrics - 'if words were kisses he'd be making love to me'. I love it, and again Jess sounds fantastic on the second verse. One of my favourites.
7. I'll Be Remembering (4/5)
This is catchy, but kind of bland. But I'm sure it will grow on me. The girls dominate this song, apart from a verse from Kevin, in the beginning.
8. Last Goodbye (5+/5)
Another fantastic track. It's hard to tell whether this will be fast or slow by the opening music, but it ends up being midtempo. The chorus is soooo catchy, I was singing after the album had finished! Another favourite.
9. Let Go (5/5)
It just keeps getting better and better! This song is another upbeat funk filled track. This song is kind of weird, with the vocals being sung very fast and out of focus.
10. Forever (5/5)
Michelle finally gets a chance to sing, and she has a great voice. She sings in the first verse and I love it. This is another beautiful ballad (they are going fast song, slow song, fast, slow), and it has a very strong chorus.
11. Close Your Eyes (5/5)
This has a cool beginning with funny music. Kevin then starts singing, and then Jess chimes in. The chorus is very catchy, and you can't help singing along.
12. I Just Wanna (5+++++/5)
I love this track! This is my favourite on the album. It is very cheeky and naughty with a reference to sex in the line 'I just wanna uh-uh'. This song has been dubbed by Lib X fans as the 'Uh-uh' song. It has ridiculous lyrics like 'pick me up on every inneundo, play me like the new nintendo'. Brilliant!
13. Impossible (5++++++/5)
Along with 'I Just Wanna' this is my absolute FAVOURITE on the album! This song is AMAZING. It's the best ballad on the album by far! Kelli has such a fantastic voice and she shows it off. This song has moving lyrics, and it's still very catchy, even for a ballad. Lots of reviews I've read in magazines say this is the best track on the CD and I agree!
14. Take Me Home (5/5)
Another catchy track with Michelle saying 'Liberty X' at the beginning. It's another club stomper with a strong chorus and powerful lyrics.
15. Story of My Life (3/5)
I'm sorry, but this is my least favourite track on the album. I just think it's generic and boring.
16. Maybe (5/5)
This song makes me cry! The music is so amazing and moving - I cried the second time I heard it. Kelli and Tony sound so good on this. Tony wrote this by himself and it's amazing. Another great ballad.

My top 5 tracks:
01. Impossible
02. I Just Wanna
03. The Poet
04. The Last Goodbye
05. Everybody Cries

The second half of the album is better then the first half. It starts off steady, then by the time it reaches track 12 it's at it's peak point.

I love Liberty X. I hope they don't get dropped by their record company - if only they had released 'The Poet' or 'Impossible' instead of 'Everybody Cries' which didn't even reach the top ten (it peaked at No.14 I think, which is a shame).

Good on ya, Lib X! This is a great 2nd album.

How far the mighty have fallen. After losing to Hear'say in the UK POPSTARS competition, then trumping them by releasing the blazingly good THINKING IT OVER(and outclassing both of Hear'say's mediocre at best offerings), Liberty X return ready to face the death nail known in music circles as the "sophomore slump". I would love to say that BEING SOMEBODY picks up where the fantastic THINKING IT OVER left off. Sad to say, this is not the case. First single "Jumpin" is classic Liberty X, upbeat and in-your-face pop, and the Richard X bootleg "Being Nobody", though not reaching the grand heights of the Sugababes/Richard X collab "Freak Like Me", is still fairly solid on a more modest scale. The problem here is the overabundance of balladry, kept in check the first time out, but here overwhelming the record. The entire middle of the set is occupied by treacly tracks that never really even get started, with only the occasional uptempo number interspersed to break up the monotony of it all. "Everybody Cries", "The Poet", "I'll Be Remembering", "The Last Goodbye", "Forever"--the list keeps on going, with all of them sinking under the weight of their own mediocrity. Every once in a while we're blessed with a "Jumpin" or "Watcha Doin Tonight", but those times are few and far between. With the album being pretty much a bust so far in the UK, here's hoping the group rethinks their next move and hopefully resurfaces with a record that plays more to their strengths rather than dreadful dreck such as this.
