little disappointed Submitted on: 2009-04-20 |

| i will say that at one time in my life i owned all of GNRs cds but throughout many years many friends have "borrowed" them. So i often find myself going to buy new copies, around this time the Greatest hits was released. I was more then a little disappointed, more then three of the song choosen were covers. Popular songs like nighttrain and rocket queen were excluded. So people who didnt grow up listening to gnr dont get the full experience. i recommend for newbies just to get appetite and be happy |

Three Cover Songs? Submitted on: 2009-02-27 |

| How "great" is a band when 1/4 of the songs on their "Greatest Hits" album are covers? This band was grossly overrated and the world lost very little when they split. |

Decent single Disc greatest Hits of Popular Hard Rock Band. Submitted on: 2009-02-21 |

This greatest hits serves as a decent introduction to the band, but hardly captures the band's essence properly.
If one really wants to hear this band, than the legendary debut is the way to go.
A greatest hits like this works best for kids and/or Radio listeners who are not very heavy minded.
The tracks included are decent enough, but the deep album cuts and fan favorites are entirely absent including "Rocket Queen","Mr.Brownstone","Night train","I Used to Love Her" and most of the Use Your Illusion albums are not very well represented.
There's probally too many covers, excepting the well done cover of "Knockin on Heaven's Door",there is also the pointless "Live and Let Die" and the boring cover of "Sympathy For the Devil",both of which serve no purpose on this compilation.
Still,at the price it's not the worst one disc compilation you'll find, and if it's the radio hits you dig, than you could do worse.
Note:The CD's design is a bit funny, all scratched up and beaten.Certainly to raise a few eyebrows to any that gaze over your music collection. |

Best GnR CD. Submitted on: 2009-01-17 |

| This is an awesome CD. It has hits like Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Knockin' on Heavens Door, Live and Let Die, and a few others. The lyrics are great and Slash just rocks on the guitar. Drums are great and bass is cool too. All in all If you enjoy good ol' 80s rock then this is an excellent CD for you. |
