| Yes, great songs; yes, lovely voice, beautiful room with wonderful New York views BUT really awful acoustics. If you want to hear these songs performed under ideal conditions stick to the studio recordings. One more thing: the strings are really schmaltzy. You had to be there! |

She is unique and splendid.
After so many years of Bobby Short at the Rainbow Room, I couldn't imagine
anyone topping him. Jane does it with style and a beautiful voice. |

She has the look AND the voice! I'll make this short & simple...When the world finally takes notice to Jane Monheit...WATCH OUT! She's been releasing Great And Wonderful albums for almost 8 years! It's just a matter of time. This Live project is just another feather in her hat, and REALLY proves just how great of a singer she is. She's put in several different settings (Orchestra, Trio & Acoustic) and does a fantastic job on each and every one!
Choice Cuts are: "Over The Rainbow", "Dindi", "It Might As Well Be Spring" & "Comecar De Novo". Treat not just yourself, but a friend too! You won't be let down....Solid throughout! Oh! there's a DVD to go along with this Compact Disc!

| Jane Monheit's appearence at the Rainbow Room has everything: a wonderful voice, great songs, arrangements, accompanyment and the energy of a live performance. Her "Some Other Time" is classic, and I love "Waters of March". She can do-it-all. My only minor disappointment (being an audio perfectionist) is with a brief, but audible, drop-off in the recording about 4 minutes into the performance that was similarly audible on the replacement disk that Amazon kindly sent to me. I decided to keep the CD replacement, anyway, because she's just a wonderful singer. I also have Monheit's "taking a Chance on Love" CD, that I also highly recommend. |
