Mr. Dime's time to shine by Rebecca Aul aka Beckxy Submitted on: 2004-08-22
As a respectful Kid Rock fan, I started to learn of Dime, when Kracker took off and did his own thing and Dime came aboard.
Lemme take you back to when i was a teen..I had had a variety of musical tastes. Majoring behind hip hop on one side and metal on the other. Back in the 80's early 90's they really didn't mix to well, but Run DMC got the picture very quickly. So then as i grew up my music vocabulary grew very big. I grew into listening to just more then hip-hop and metal, I'd listen to everything but opera and classical music. Which when Kid came out, I was amazed at what this guy put together.........Well were not talking bout kid here...but anyway what i am getting to...Is Kid really grew too..with in his years, and I haven't gotten back to the roots of hip hop for quite some time.
In comes Paradime, fresh, straight outta Detriot, hard edged, beat some punk to the ground, but still be such a teddybear to the cute ladies. I like that he is real raw! He can smack you in the face with his lyrics, then pick you up and help you drink down a Henny. He says what he feels. He is eccentric with his production. I mean, I know this is from another CD, but look at Vices,,,do you hear that keyboard part, it works and just fits right in there..WAY TO GO, DIME.
Mr. Dime...there is another eccentric piece. It's like he wrote these tunes while he was trippin on 20 liquid cubes. Shoot..what ever it is will you give me some of that?...hahahaha
I dig the versatile of your music, not every song sounds the same. I feel like music is sometimes like sex when your with the same partner for many of years....It's good to try new things, open your mind, keep broadening your influences, or it becomes old and dusty. With one phat beat, some records to scratch, and a tune to keep looping, and a hard core eccentric rapper to produce this art, I think ol' Stank Breff is on his way to the top.
Good Luck to you Mr. Dime
The Dimettes luv ya!!!

Par-a-digm:
1. EXAMPLE, PATTERN; especially: an outstandingly clear or typical example. One that serves as a pattern or model. 2. A set of list of all the inflectional forms of a word.3. A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality. A philosophical or theoretical framework of any kind.
Step for a moment into the world of Freddie Beauregard, aka Paradime, aka Stank Breff, aka The Liquor Store Shakespeare. If you've never heard of Paradime before, "11 Steps Down" is a perfect introduction into the hilariously funny, extremely versatile, yet often inebriated, brain of the most gifted Detroit rapper since, oh, that other white guy...
INTRO - nuff said.
MR. DIME - Listen to this one, for those who never heard a Paradime CD, and you get a pretty dead-on, hilarious look at this unique, foul, lovable, self-described idiot. I can picture the video for this one - I'm seeing a Rated-R Mr. Grinch!
WE GONE WILE - Should be the first single! You can't sit still on this one. If this is Dime & crews' idea of clubbin', count me there!
BETTER DAYS - We've all been there, and everyone will relate to this one, no matter where they come from or their situation.
FOUL MOUFF - This is Dimes world, and we're just livin' in it! Awesome beats, you'll be singing this one word for word after one listen! Kid Rock proves he's still a rapper at heart, but it's Dimes song, and he leaves no doubt about who is "foul mouff"!
THE PHARMACY INTERLUDE - Not a song, but this skit deserves mention as the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life! If Dime ever tires of the music biz, I'm thinking a career in comedy, either stand-up or comedy writing, would come just as easy for this nut!
PRESCRIPTION PILLS - Wow, most of us wouldn't be so eloquent when so full of these! Kracker may be goin' country, but he still knows what's good!
NO GOOD FOR YOU - Real, not overly emotional, but probably the best love song a thug ever wrote. It takes a real man to lay out his feelings for a woman in front of the world, and Dime has done it without losing an ounce of his street cred. Quite possibly the best song on the CD!
ROCKSTAR SH!T - You'll sing this one under your breath, has a very catchy hook. Just don't make the mistake I did, singing it a little TOO loud in Wal-mart, got some pretty nasty looks from some lil' old ladies!
11 STEPS DOWN - They're alcoholics, they admit it, and they ain't tryin' to do nothin' about it! Tash And Swift are superb, Dime is at his best, and the lyrics are priceless! Every beer drinker in the world will love this one!
LIVE - Rockin' song - another one you won't be able to hear sitting still! Play "We Gone Wile" and then this one, and you've got a party!
K.T.F.O. - Add this one to the above party, and now you've got an all-out bar brawl! Great song for getting pumped up for anything you've gotta do! Guests Trick Trick, and Proof & Kuniva of D12 throw out their verses, and Dime, well, you know what Dime does. Another catchy chorus that will get in your head and stay there!
ROUND HERE - Dime lays out how they do it "round here", and he really doesn't care how you do it around your way! Yet another "get up and move you're a**" song!
DIRTEE GIRLZ - Dime loves Dirtee Girlz the best, and for that Dime, from all of the Dirtee Girlz in the world, we sincerely thank you!
H8 - Great song to get off your chest all the things you hate! Dime covers most of them, but add your own, he won't mind!
HYPNO N HENNY - This one has a different kinda vibe than the others, but that's not sayin' it ain't good. Girls be careful when you listen to this one, it's like Dime slipped you a "roofie" and you may not remember what happened after that!
NO MORE - Perfect song to end on. I started thinking about my own list of friends I don't see anymore, for one reason or another. It's not a downer, but more of a wistful wishing that things didn't have to change.
To sum it up (finally, you say!) "11 Steps Down" is a must for anyone who appreciates talent. From the production, to the lyrics, the delivery, special guests, even the hilarious liner notes, this is a first-class CD! Paradime has the kind of appeal that everyone can get into, no matter what race, sex, class, or part of the country you may reside in. He's tough, capable of (and willing to) kick some major A**, on and off the mic, yet cute and cuddly enough to drive the ladies wild!
If the above is not enough to make you rush right out and buy "11 Steps Down", then you are a big loser wussy, you eat boogers, and yer mama hates you!
Get the CD, give it a listen, and if then you don't agree with me, Paradime will kick you in the teeth!
Peace, love, and harmony,
Ramona
(Yeah, it was a long review, so sue me.)
gotta get it Submitted on: 2004-08-19
well this is my first review but this CD called for it. right from the beginning you know this is gonna be the dime you know and love. I can relate to every song on this CD, as should everyone else. This CD is like an autobiography of dimes life, and will definitely take you down memory lane. great beats and tight lyrics make you listen to every song straight through, no track skippin here. So fire one up and get ready to laugh you a#$ off, punch somebody in the face for no reason and pour out some beer for your boys who aren't with us no more. Dime has arrived.
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! Submitted on: 2004-08-17
WE all heard about it; we all waited for it, and then it came! The August release EVERYONE already knew about but,no one seemed to have. For once, the easiest way to own this one was to get it off the net. Some stores are still showing release da:tes of August 26th and have yet to produce.
Although the timing of release didn't quite mix with the Party date; it was well worth the time, effort and $$ spent. After all, it wasn't Paradime's fault the record wasn't available everywhere, for everyone and the very time it was suppose to be.
Releasing this BOMB is the biggest one dropped yet by (MR> DIME!) From the introduction of the title which is exactly that; to the old school connection with Kid Rock in the entitled Foul Mouf.
After taking ten steps up it will take you 11 steps down to reach the ground after listening to the wide variation of music put together on this cover.Round Here sets the stage for what you might expect with Paradime and his image however, he carries on to tell us about life as a Rock star which leaves us with no questions that it isn't always all that.
Round Here is my personal favorite. It lacks nothing to the imagination. It;s the old, it's the new and It's on it's way to the charts. No doubt about it!!!
IF you haven't found this one yet; don't waste your time runing from store to store. Take that extra few days for a for real, real deal and get NOW!
