As far as I am concerned, I enjoyed the albulm.Nelly was really never interested in gangsta rap which is what some of you brothas were stating and correlating him to that. Anyway I like this albulm because it has shown his growth and maturity, as well as entrance to the next level in life. He has chosen some deep soulful brothas to collaborate with such as Anthony Hamilton and Jahiem. I think that Sweat is good but I like most others prefer this albulm. It shows that he has substance as well as being able to intermingle with mainstream minds.PEACE
the wackest rapper i have ever heard

Can anyone save the rap game?

I was recently over a friends house - when I suddenly heard a bunch of dogs barking out back. Me and my friend went outside to see what the commotion was all about - suddenly I felt their pain and began to hollar amomg the feeble animals. As I listened to Nelly's Sweat album from the car of some confused teenagers realized that my beloved rap was just a thing of the past - along with disco music (which is not that bad compared to the garbage that is out now). Now I realized why I never fully gave my heart to the so called "rap game" even when their were some top quality MC's that actually had something to say (Rakim,Public Enemy,De La Soul,Leaders Of The New School,Jungle Brothers, ect.) And this is the reason I'm a avid fan of classic soul, funk, jazz, and rock (not the heavy metal or punk type), and this is the reason those guys's are spoken of as legends as opposed to 95 percent of those "gone by tomorrow stars" of hip-hop. This clown Nelly is consistently excellent in putting out consistent trash. But what I and many other's don't understand is how he's sold so many albums, and I don't kow anybody that owns anything fom this [...] This guy is not an artist he's an con-artist for this trash to the masses of kids and adults a like. I didn't continue to put my ears through the that kind of torture - so from what I heard lame beats, lyrics, song content, ect, ect, ect. This and his other contemporaries such as St. Lunatics(wack),Lil John(awful),Ying Yang Twins(horrendous), and others - it's to many to go down the line (all day affair) LOL! How many times are these record companies going to promote this absurdity. It's like anyone can be a rapper these days - no let me rephrase that - ANYONE can be a rapper these days. This along with his Suit album is the reason hip-hop is losing many fans and are exploring different genres and elements of music. I was born in 1973(a year before Nelly)so i feel privelidge growing up knowing about all different kinds of music. And I feel sorry for these kids today because to many of them - this is all they know. That's why it is up to parents such as myself to educate and help steer the youth in the right direction, because as of right now we as people have been doing a dismal job. Kids look up to these rappers for inspiration the way my generation looked up to Stevie Wonder,Marvin Gaye,Temptations,Smokey Robinson, and Aretha Franklin. And even though many of our heroes had troubled personal lives - they never preached such negative and derogatory music. To sum it up avoid this album like the plague and pick up something with more meaning such as, Marvin Gaye(the greatest),Stevie Wonder,(legend),Dramatics,Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes,Eagles,Steely Dan,Doobie Brothers,Three Dog Night,Gil Scott Heron,Bob Dylan,Michael Jackson,Al Green,Bread,Genesis,Aerosmith,Pink Floyd,Manhattans,Maze featuring Frankie Beverly(must have),Jacksons,Heatwave,O'Jays,Billy Paul,Bee Gees,Commodores,Common,Tribe Called Quest,James Ingram,Prince,De La Soul,Kem,Van Hunt,Brian McKnight,Anthony Hamilton and Hootie & the Blow Fish.
NELLY IS POSSIBLY THE WORST RAPPER EVER
Submitted on: 2006-06-25
i cannot believe this rubbish has gone platinum, what is this?, nelly has to be possibly the worst rapper ever to pick up a mic, in fact, calling him a rapper is an insult to rap, hes a pop artist, he has no flow, no good lyrics, he does not rap about anything meaningful or deep,he is ruining rap and making it seem like a joke, which is quickly what its becoming, nelly, along with ja rule, chingy, 50 cent, the game and all the other terrible rappers, should be banned from rapping, i cant believe nelly had the nerve to diss KRS-one, who killed him on a diss, and if krs-one was more famous, and more people heard the diss, it would have ended nellys career, like mf doom said

"Viktor the director flip a script like Rob Reiner, the way a lot of dudes rhyme their name should be knob-shiner"

peace

Nelly is the best and most outstanding successful rapper and he deserves to have excellent feedback!! and to all those squares out there i think you guys all need to get a life because nelly is such a great guy and doesnt even give a s**t about all of u. suit is an awesome album, i think i prefer it more then sweat as it is more of a laid-back album and sweat is more up-beat. and i request you should look out for song #8 'In My Life'. it is a great and heart felt album. and i think everyone should buy it.
ps. he is the hottest out there! and is really good live as i went to his concert in July 05!!
