Not too bad, the music in new zealand always has to be south auckland or auckland alone.
Bring wellington into the scene. dawnraid especially needs to find alot of good talent down here. start talent scouting.

This album was very tight. I must admit i thought there wouldnt be 1 bad or crap song & i was sure right. P-Money is 1 of the world's finest DJ's & makes beats that are unforgetable, original & just plain damn catchy. This is no exception. This may well be the best stuff P has come out of the closet with. Now onto the review.
Intro: Well its really only 13 secs long & it sounds future-istic with the voice. i cant rate it except i can say its a simple but original concept which leads right onto.....
3,2,1 feat. Skillz: CLASSIC! Skillz has always been a brillant lyricist & bog oh boy does he do a great job here. A very classic beat with classic lyrics you wont soon forget. Your party jumper song, great introduction 2 the album. 5/5
We! (Dem Ni99az) feat. Aasim & Capone: Here goes our Gangsta song, a sort of chilling beat & Aasim & Capone spit good ish on this track, chorus is original but very Gangsta indeed. 4/5
Keep On Callin' feat. Akon: CLASSIC! This maybe a RnB song but Akon is good & its very catchy. The lyrics are very well done & i gotta give props to this track. its very good indeed 5/5
Two Step feat. Jatis: This song is a good song but not 1 of my fav, Jatis spits some good stuff here but it dont really ya kno, get me bouncing along. A very chilled out song & good 4 relaxation. 4/5
I Had None feat. Mystro: Mystro is very cool on this track which just reaches 1 sec under 3mins. Its a story tale of having nothing. With the theme repeated in several other rap songs the way he put it is innovative. A very nitty gritty song. 4/5
Get Back feat. PNC & Con Psy of Frontline: BLOCKBUSTER! This is the song that does it for me. A very bouncy, fun song by some classic New Zealand rappers. The hook is very nice & the lyrics are very funny & out there. This is indeed a stick out track on the album. Also contains a skit @ the end which is bout them b4 recording the song, very funny stuff. 5/5
Represent feat. Roc Raida & the P man himself: This is not a MC track if you thought P was gone speak (YAY..... Damn). This is a full DJ track very nicely done by the famous Roc Raida & P-Money. Very cool indeed however if DJaying & the such is just not your piece of cake then i suggest that you skip this. 4/5
Turn It Up feat. Tyna & Scribe: Ohhhh goody. Last time i heard Tyna & Scribe together it was on Scribe's debute album "The Crusader" & they did a collab on a track called "Stronger" which was 1 of my favourite tracks on the whole album. On here tho its a very good track but nothing 2 out putting & fancinating. Scribe does the chorus/hook which is ok but not really gon grip me. 3/5
Get Money (Interlude): By Sauce Money, just a quick intro b4 we hit this song...
Easy feat. Sauce Money: This song is really cool. Sauce Money spits some good lyrics here. Its a chilled out track but it gets me grooving & the such. A very well written & delivered track.
Get Up Slow feat. Con Psy of Frontline: a very serious track by Con Psy (hmmmmm could prove interesting), this is a good track by the Con man & it makes u think. Chorus is very good message for people. Con despite getting personal gets my mark. 4/5
Anyway feat. Aasim & Bobby Creekwater: Not really feelings this 1 to be honest. Its alright & i can listen to it & put up with it coz it aint that bad really just im not feeling it @ all. 2/5
Driven feat. Scribe: Scribe the name NZ can remember. a serious track by Scribe which is kinda personal but mostly bout were he's at & what he's done 2 get there. a Sweet song, does the cut 4 me. 4/5
Stop The Music feat. Scribe, (even tho it dont mention PNC does the chorus): CLASSIC! Scribe is very deep in this. PNC does a great chorus & it sounds kinda sad which is a good feeling to the song. Loving this song alot, very well done by the NZ boys. 5/5
3,2,1 Remix feat. PNC, Con Psy of Frontline & Skillz: The chorus is somewhat slightly different till the end when Skillz comes back on the track but that dont matter coz this is a CLASSIC! all the way. PNC is "obviously cocky" in this 1 as stated by him & Con Psy spits an incredily dope verse. Skillz returns & rips up the track 4 a great return to the song. 5/5
*Bonus Track: @ the end of the 1 mentioned above. Roughly bout 1 min of rappin' with abit of talking b4 he starts. I duno who it was but it was really weird. Oh well a very interesting way to end the album.
This album is an excellant showcase & P-Money's talents & the guest are just HOT. Reccommened for everyone its 1 of the best albums to come out of NZ Hip Hop wise.
Overall marking: 5/5 |

| The initial spotlight that shone on Auckland DJ & producer P-Money has faded a little recently, with his friend and successful collaborator Scribe dominating press and sales in New Zealand's hip-hop scene. This is no bad thing though; instead it has allowed this incredibly talented young man to come up with an excellent sophomore long player, which stands as an impressive follow up to his already classic 'Big Things' album. P-Money's standing in both the local and international hip-hop community has gone from strength to strength since his debut, and an international cast of emcee talent combined with New Zealand's finest gives the album a truly global feel. The legendary Skillz displays his lyrical brilliance on "3,2,1", a party cut that will devastate floors worldwide, P-Money conjuring up the sort of beat that will simply make you want to jump around. Senegalese singer/songwriter Akon adds his surreal voice to "Keep On Callin"; a slick R&B cut that shows another side to the P-Money arsenal. Elsewhere-hot Brit rapper Mystro gives "I Had None" a gritty urban edge, while scratch genius Roc Raida joins P-Money on "Represent", both DJ's laying down cuts of the highest quality. Of course the album wouldn't be the same without Scribe, who once again shows his class on the self explanatory "Driven" and lead single "Stop The Music", both tracks confirming just how good Scribe and P-Money can be when working together. 'Magic City' makes an impact - its a record that could have failed miserably but seems more likely to become another classic for its maker - and another example of the incredible rise of New Zealand hip-hop over the last two years. Recommended. |
