| I really like how the vocals progressed between the two albums, you also get a great sense for how the songwriting shifted and got a bit more darker and more powerful. "The Fifth Season" I recommend for anyone who liked At the Gates's "Slaugher of the Soul." The first album on the disc "Lost in the Beauty you Slay," I think is better than the earlier At the Gates stuff. If you slowed down Ensiferum it's comparable in sound to most of their records. |

| If you enjoy your early - mid 90s melodic death when it was in its hay day - then this album should grace your collection. You can clearly hear the elements of earlier In Flames shine through (ala Jester Race). This really is classic stuff - The album is/was on Black Sun, the artwork is by Kristian Wåhlin, and it is produced by Fredrik Nordström... Combine those elements and you can surely come to the same conclusion as I have. In the immortal words of Alan Partridge - 'Lovely Stuff' |
