Their Worst Album So Far Submitted on: 2006-01-13 |
|
| The day this was released I was in one of the local CD stores ready to spend some of my hard earned cash, This album came as a suprise to me because I didn't know it was coming out (not that something like that happening is a bad thing) so since I loved their first album, thought that Chapters and Sceptre were also fairly good I decided why not buy this album. I liked Emotional Skies, I liked Purgatory Time but then what happened? all the remaining tracks, in my opinion were crap. I know this band is better than this, hopefully their next one will be better since Mathias Blad is back, if you don't beleive me check out their website www.falconermusic.com |

What Grime? Falconer is ALL Grandeur Submitted on: 2006-01-05 |

| I thought CHAPTERS rocked, SCEPTRE kind of sucked, but GRIME VS. GRANDEUR totally blew me away..."Purgatory Time" and "The Assailant" are the most savage power-metal tracks I've heard in a long time, and I can't really find a bad song on this CD. Kris Gobel has hit his stride as a singer and Stefan Wienerhall just spins incredible riffs out of thin air. If Falconer keeps this up, all other power metal bands will probably kill themselves out of envy. An AWESOME album, great work guys. Tour America someday, eh? |

power to spare Submitted on: 2005-12-09 |

| This is a great power metal album. I really did not expect much when I picked this up. What a great surprise. Nice power from the vocalist, they don't over do the power chording on the guitar, and though I hear their influences at times this is a unique album. Similar to Jacob's Dream with more proggy moments I recommend this album to all who love metal. |

much better then i was expecting it to be. Submitted on: 2005-10-27 |

i have there first cd it is really good, but my taste in music has become a bit heavier in the years since there debut album came out.
anyway, i've been putting off buying this cd since it came out, dumb, dumb, dumb decision. this cd completely floored me and surprised the heck out of me how good it is.
it is so catchy and the choruses, after listing to this i think i will be going back and purchasing there last 2 releases i skipped out on because of narrow minded reviers on many other sites.
if you like power metal at all, you have to buy this cd, and don't think about it for months like i did. damn this cd is good. |

Good effort but... Submitted on: 2005-07-11 |

| Being a big Falconer fan, I hate to to say this but, for me, Grime Vs. Grandeur is a step down. All the songs on the album are good & worth listening to but, after I did, nothing on that album really got my attention. Songs like Emotional Skies & Humanity Overdose are just a bit too "happy" for my style; kind of a Freedom Call rip off if you will. However, other songs like I Refuse, No Tears For Strangers & Jack The Knife really shows the band's talent. Kristoffer Göbel's voice also improved a lot from Sceptre Of Deception being more intense and sounding more solid. All in all, Grime Vs. Grandeur will most likely not win any new fans for the band. This is more for the true Falconer fan; and still... |
