Worst Attempt At Comedy Songs I Have Ever Heard Submitted on: 2009-01-10 |
|
I can not for life of me figure out what anyone else see's in this album, I don't think I laughed once during the whole thing. After all the hype I read from a few reviews about how funny this was supposed to be and how Johnny Knoxville sent it to Howard Stern who liked it so much he got the guy to come in and play them live, and a bit of pedigree about the guys history... and people are praising this as the funniest thing they have ever heard?
I'm sorry, but funny song writers are Rodney Rude, Kevin Bloody Wilson, John Valby, Red Peters, Larry Peirce, Bob Rivers, Rodney Carrington, hell even Steven Lynch is funnier then this guy who just sings about his big old fat ex-girlfriend for most of the album.
The only one that even came close to being clever or funny was Making Bacon Nekkid, but even it failed by the end. This is not a comedy album, it's just smut lyrics mixed with a few serious songs that would never have been known about if it wasn't for Johnny Knoxville.
Go find the artists I mentioned and compare them to this guy, and you will see this albums music, lyrics and attempt at comedy are terrible. Especially it's attempt at being sing along bar songs that even the drunken red-neck patrons would walk out of knowing what kind of lame attempt this is. |

True Cornball Country Irreverence Submitted on: 2007-08-07 |

Roger Alan Wade is not the greatest country picker, or singer, to fall off the turnip truck, but this is one funny record. The reason I bought this is because I had heard a couple of his tunes on [...] - quite by chance. I was not disappointed. This has quickly become a favorite around the poker table, and at hunting camp.
This is not really going to tickle the funny bone of many women, and shouldn't be played for the kiddies, either, as it can get pretty raunchy.
If you like music that would make a PG-13 version of Hee-Haw!, then this is the record for you. |
