Relentlessly boring... Submitted on: 2009-05-09 |

Dull... Flat... Lifeless... Are great ways to describe this boring album. There's nothing special about this CD. The tracks "Relentess" and "Let's Love" are the only good songs on the entire album, The restis completely boring. Jo' would sound alot better if she put in some time for vocal training before recording a 14 track album, that's a bit lengthy for such weak performance. There's definatley some pitch problems throughout the cd. She's monotoned and sings in one key on every single song, If there were no instrumental she'd sound sound like she's talking to herself. With the proper training she has what it takes to belt a ballad and bring more MAGIC to her sound. Her pitchy/out-of-tune vocals makes the listener cringe and are painful to listen to at times. I find myself squinting when she sings certain notes. I'm skeptic about purchasing any future material from Jo', If she gets the training i'll continue purchasing but I have a feeling she'll never get around to doing it. I'm sure she thinks she sounds amazing and noone ever listened to her album to tell her that she needs it. So i'm guessing i'm out of luck. I "did" get two new songs to add to my iPOD though, But if she keeps this up Noon will be checking for Jo'.

3 1/2 stars Submitted on: 2009-04-20 |

| say what you want about both her and S CLub. but you can't say that they, nor er can't sing b/c you'd be lying. out of all of them, Jo does have the strongest voice. [as showcased in "Reach and "Never Had A Dream Come True] this album is no different. vocally she rises to the challenge everytime especially w/ the single that Rascal Flatts so slyly remade here in the U.S., "What Hurts The Most".and the other songs are great too but the only reason I gave this album 3 1/2 stars is b/c it's an album full of ballads. while I do love ballads, I would love to hear a club jam or two thrown in the mix just change it up a bit. but otherwise it is a good CD you'll just have to listen to half now and half later like I did since it's full of ballads. but I do hope to hear more from here in the future. her voice is amazing !!! |

S Club's Best Singer Nails It! Submitted on: 2007-09-15 |
|
| I never really listened to S Club when they were popular since they never made it that big in the US, but I started listening to a few of their songs after Jo was in the headlines again, and what I can say, I absolutely fell in love with her voice, let's face it, she was the one who made that group, despite the fact that much of it was cheesey pop. I then came around to listening to this album, and I think it is brilliant. Her voice can bring me to tears (not in a bad way) and really bring out my emotions. "I believe in you" and "Rainbows End" have got to be my favorites, to the person who said Jessica Simpson could do better, what a joke. "What Hurts the most" also a great cover, she does justice to it. A great singer with a great album is what she is, I agree with whoever said they could listen to her all day. |
