| | | Two things hit you while listening to this two-disc, 35-song collection. First: Reba McEntire, one of country's most twangy, yet recognizable and singular voices, has consistently chosen material that captures life's dramatic moments of consequence, whether it's the decision to leave a romantic coupling, face up to a failed relationship with a parent, or handle the passing of a loved one. And second: in the course of her 23-year career, several of her 33 #1 hits slipped up to the top of the charts virtually unnoticed, and seem hardly memorable today (e.g., "I Know How He Feels"). Yet the best of her work ("Whoever's in New England," "Rumor Has It") remains as emotionally resonant today as when it first appeared. Not only a fine singer, however, McEntire picked up the mantle of woman-to-woman songs first carried by Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette. Long before Martina McBride began singing songs of social relevance, McEntire had been encouraging and empowering women to change their lives--to look beyond their roles as dutiful wives and mothers ("Is There Life Out There")--if perhaps more subtly than McBride. Reba #1's contains two new tunes: "You're Gonna Be," a mother's loving lessons for her child; and "Love Needs a Holiday," which recounts a married couple's much-needed motel getaway. The latter sounds like it could be the theme song to a spin-off of McEntire's TV sitcom, but the former, much like her most-loved songs, comes packed with wisdom for anyone attempting to navigate the unsettling storms of life. --Alanna Nash | | Reba #1's Tracks/Songs

Keep on loving you, July 28, 2011
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
I have loved this lady's music from the first time I heard her on the way home one night on my car radio. I think I own all of her music. She is so down to earth. Has a wonderful voice, chooses her music well. I love her. Listen to her and simply enjoy it all. ------Amazon Vertified Purchase----

Solid Effort, May 14, 2011
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
While this album will not go down as a country classic it is a solid good album from Reba. As usual Reba mostly plays it safe preventing her from turning out that classic song I tend to crave from all my favorites. She does take a bit of a risk on "Maggie Creek Road", "Maggie" won't go down as a standard but it is by far the best song on the CD. Its a tune about rape and murder and Reba does quite well on this. While the rest of this CD never comes up to that song there are other songs that you will want to hear more than once (Consider Me Gone, I'll have What She's Having, I keep on Loving You). There are some clunkers here too (I Want a Cowboy, Strange). All the other songs are kind of in the middle. You will enjoy them but it's doubtful you'll want to hear them over and over. Overall its a good album that is very enjoyable but at the same time its probably not an album you will reach for in 10 years.

Reba McEntire: Keep On Loving You, January 20, 2011
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
Reba's back and she's just as good as she ever was! I was nervous when she left her old production company, ya never know what to expect, but I should have known; one thing you can always expect from Reba is AWESOMENESS!! Geez I sound like Barney Stinson (How I met your Mother) LOL
Lots of great songs for all sorts of situations, a little sass, kinda takes ya back to old albums like "Rumor Has It." These younger gals still can't hold a candle to her! So check it out; You won't be disappointed by the CD or if you order it from the seller, he got it to me quickly and in wonderful shape!

New Reba, July 5, 2010
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
Not a bad C.D. I would say that 6 of the songs are great... the others are not up to what I would call Reba standard.

We Just Keep On Loving Reba!, June 12, 2010
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
After a long wait from her last proper studio album,Reba is back on form with this Pop/Country gem!
The album starts off with her big hit single Strange,a catchy uptempo. There's also some other great upbeat songs like Just When I Thought I'd Stopped Loving You,I Want A Cowboy(which features Katrina Elam on harmonies),Pink Guitar and the bluegrass fuelled Nothing To Lose.
But the real beauties are the balllads where Reba has always shined the most.Such as the lovely She's Turning 50 Today,But Why and Over You.
The title track I Keep On Loving You is the most country sounding song on the album(plus it's also written by pal Ronnie Dunn) and her no.1 hit Consider Me Gone is one of her best work in years.
Produced by Reba,Tony Brown(her long time producer) and Mark Bright(Carrie Underwood),Keep On Loving You marks Reba McEntire's big comeback to country radio and shows why she's still the Queen of Country.

Okay so here goes... I've been a fan of Reba's for a number of years. Unfortunately this was the 1st Reba CD I ever bought I do NOT REGRET BUYING IT AT ALL!! I LOVE THIS ALBUM! Since I heard this album I've bought at least 4 more of her albums and loved them ALL! I love Reba McEntire and if this album is any sign I will KEEP ON LOVING Reba McEntire till her last song on her last CD. I haven't met a Reba Song I haven't liked so far lol. If you are iffy on buying this album don't be it is AMAZING! My favorite song on the album was She's Turning 50 today! Which I loved and downloaded as a ringtone for my phone off of the website given in the insert of the CD lol. I am now and always be a Reba McEntire fan. So if you are a Reba fan GET THIS CD! It's WORTH IT!

Reba Continues To Be Awesome!, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
I absolutely love this cd full of great duet singers! I wish more artists would put out country duets like this one. I highly recommend this cd to everyone! There is really nothing to say bad about this cd because I think the singers and songs she chose are just perfect. Reba has always been a top notch singer and gets prettier and better as the years go on! Keep it coming Reba!
Love and blessings, Doris H S

"I LOVE THIS WOMAN", February 28, 2010
This review is from: Keep on Loving You (Audio CD)
When most country acts over the age of 50 find their careers at a standstill with radio refusing to play their records and the public hammering for younger acts, Reba McEntire has never been hotter. Her latest CD, "Keep on Loving You", debut at #1 on both the country and pop charts and as of March, 2010 is nearing Gold status. Featuring 13 tracks, the standouts here are the first single released from the album called "Strange, as well as "Pink Guitar", "Nothing To Lose", and the best song on the CD "Consider Me Gone" that hit #1 on the country singles chart, becoming "Reds" 24th #1 song. Reba's 29th studio album, "Keep on Loving You" is filled with beautiful uptempo numbers and wonderful ballads, performed only as Miss Reba can sing them. An A+ album for all to enjoy.
