Black Sabbath 1970-1978 Submitted on: 2009-11-20 |

| In my opinion, this was Black Sabbaths reigning time! They sounded the best, there music was amazing! The music isn't altered at all. Ozzy sounded incredible! This is the album to introduce to any potential Black Sabbath fan! |

sabbath,s best of with ozzy. Submitted on: 2009-09-07 |

| for the most part this black sabbath best of compilation is pretty good considering it has most of the best stuff from the ozzy era, however like alot of other reviewers, i think the edited version of iron man is disappointing!! this cd should have included the long version of that song, even if it meant cutting a song like dirty women out of this collection. which i think is the weakest song on this cd.i wish black sabbath would release affordable remasters of the ozzy era stuff like they did last year [2008] with the dio era stuff. |

great cd, another great compilation Submitted on: 2009-03-31 |

| this cd i found to be one of my favorite cds, by black sabbath. it has some of the best songs, by the band with no doubt. the sound is awesome on all my audio cd players. tony iommi is one of the most innovative, talented guitar players i have ever heard. also what great guitar tone he has always had. butler and ward are also very remarkable, and of course ozzy is great for that style music. this cd to me was a must have to add to my collection. i am very happy i own this cd. |

Ozzy Years Submitted on: 2009-02-23 |
|
| This CD showcases metal legends Black sabbath 1970s period with the now rich and famous Ozzt Osbourne his stint on vocals for this group. It stands well they picked the 3 classic tracks from their self titled debut- The Wizard, N.I.B and Black Sabbath. War Pigs, Paranoid and Iron Man from that classic album. also featured are some cuts from their last two less than stellar Ozzy albums. Overall, We Sold Our Soul for Rock N Roll is better, but this is o.k. |

A Solid Primer For New Sabbath Fans Submitted on: 2009-01-14 |

Yes, I know that "Iron Man" has been edited for this particular compilation, but that doesn't mean that the entire album is terrible. If you're just cutting your teeth on Black Sabbath, "Greatest Hits 1970-1978" is a great place to start. Not only does it include tunes easily recognized by casual listeners ("War Pigs," "Paranoid," "Changes," and the aforementioned "Iron Man"), it also includes great tracks that don't get as much airplay like "Children of the Grave," "Dirty Women" and "Sweet Leaf."
In my neck of the woods, the only version of "NIB" that you'll here is the Ozzy/Primus recording, so I was also glad to see Sabbath's original version included here.
Hardcore Sabbath fans will definitely be upset with the edited version of "Iron Man," but for casual listeners or people who are just discovering Sabbath, this is an excellent disc to purchase. It's relatively cheap and opens the door for the purchase of more Black Sabbath albums. Recommended to new fans and curious passers-by. |
