| It's too bad they don't put some of his rerecorded work on here instead of the originals but 3 of the last 4 songs are exceptional (i'm not the man i'm supposed to be, how far down can i go, i never go around mirrors) Lefty is the one every country singer should listen to & the good ones did. They can't be done any better. |

| I admit that old country music was pretty cornball, but it was good cornball. Lefty Frizzell was one of its best practitioners, and this CD has some great examples of his work. |

| Lefty is the greatest of the great! If it weren't for Lefty, there would be no Merle Haggard, and all the others that follow! People who listen to "modern country music" should be locked in a room and be forced to listen to real country music, i.e. Lefty. |
