I heard Rapture on a movie.
And I researched until I found it.
Got the rapture remixes and the the Poetica full cd.
Awesome. Relaxing.
All the songs are good with Smooth, Runaway and Tantric being my favorites.
Smooth is the best to my ear.
I listen to it at work and it helps me tune out all the babbling and focus on my work.
Great stuff. |

Awesome CD "Poetica by iiO" Submitted on: 2008-08-05 |

The Poetic by iiO is one of my favorite CDs as I never get tired of listening to it. The music makes you want to dance and it transports you into a trantric mood (Nadia's vocals are awesome). The following are my favorite songs from the CD and working out to this CD is definitely a plus:
Rapture
At The End
Smooth
Chastity
Tantric
Is It Love
Be It
Enjoy!!!

Who can say they don't know iiO? The duo the errupted across the scene in 2001 with their signature tune "Rapture" which dominated the charts and clubs alike. They then unleashed their follow up singles "At The End", "Smooth", "Runaway", "Kiss You" and "Is It Love".
The album is all these sounds plus more. It took a couple of listens to find a feel for the CD. To be honest, I wasn't much fussed on the album at first listen. In saying that, once I had listened a couple of times, I couldn't stop listening. Having had the album since 2005 it still gets played incessantly (much to my flatmates despair).
We all know the opening track "Rapture" and the following song "At The End". Their following singles "Smooth" start to show the different side and feel for iiO. The sounds are ambient, slick and laid back.
'Can we go away, and never turn around again, On an escapade, and always keep the vision, Can we open out, and spread ourselves around the sand'. The next song "Runaway" is full of sexy lyrics and sounds. The sounds are slick and smooth.
The album then follows the similar feeling of sensuality both vocally and musically. The songs at time sound like poetry melted over the music which Nadia Ali and Marcus Moser have pulled off beautifully. Ali's vocals are something to behold on every last track.
The only track I really found to be a bit weak at the end is the title track "Poetica" itself. It was spoken word against confusing sounds that are reminisce of PC Games like "Half Life".
The album can't be disputed as an absolute perfection with the blending of harmony, sounds and vocals. The perfect album for recoveries or just when you want to sit back and do nothing other than just chill and have ambient, sexy sounds cooling in the background.
