Renee Olstead All Grown Up Submitted on: 2009-11-08 |

Wow... don't know why it took so long to see this newest album, but it was indeed worth the wait! Yeah, at 21 she still has that amazingly youthful quality but this set is sooooo much more than "cute". David Foster has crafted a sound and style that belies Renee's age and experience and, in fact, establishes a recognizable uniqueness that all singers struggle to find. Picture a mix of Joni James and Ricky Lee Jones... now double the talent level. Unlike many albums, this one is memorable for every track...no weak fillers here. If you love vocal swing with ear-filling, heart-pumping big band accompaniment, then all I can say is BUY IT!!

Renee is the real thing Submitted on: 2009-09-12 |

Forget her age, it's not an issue. Renee knows how to entertain.
She is at her best in an up-tempo style and this CD suits her to a
tee. I keep it in my CD player in the car and listen to it very
often. |

Disappointed Submitted on: 2009-09-10 |

| I waited for years for this CD but have to admit, compared to the first two, this was disappointing so I don't play it much. The others I play all the time. Choice of songs is final assessment. Her voice and style are still wonderful. |

Can I Rate Beyond 5 stars??? Submitted on: 2009-08-07 |

| One afternoon I fell asleep with my TV on. In my sleep, I heard this jazzy mature voice singing a wicked rendition of Summertime. When I sat up and looked at the TV set, I saw this little, curly, red-headded girl belting out like it was no tomarrow. I know the girl was Lauren because I was looking at Still Standing, but I had NO IDEA she could sing. There are no words I can use to convey just how phenonmenal she is! The best compliment I can give is since she is not appearing in the DC Metro Area, I would catch a plane to attend her concert at the nearest venue. I've only said that about Minnie Ripperton and Rosemary Clooney, who both passed away before I could see them in concert, but Ms. Renee Olstead has convinced me to don't delay, don't wait, see her before the year is out. |

This lady has some pipes!!! Submitted on: 2009-07-01 |

Renee Olstead's Skylark is an album worthy of Judy Garland or Ella Fitzgerald!
Sinatra would have made it a point to sing with Miss Olstead. So would Dean and Sammy, Bennett, you name it. Why? because renee is simply the best there is at what she does. She not only has a unique and beautiful voice. She not only interprets difficult standards with more insight than most singers with decades more experience, Renee just plain has attitude! She would have been right at home at the Sands in 1958 clowning it up and singing with The Rat Pack! Boys if you can here this girl, has she got pipes or what?!
