| I bought this when it was first released and I stil love it. It's a much have for all IG fans, and I believe could convert those who aren't. The Girls just can't be topped on their lyrics and the way their music brings them to life is magical. |

The Indigo Girls - Take You To Rock N Roll Heaven's Gate...... Submitted on: 2008-09-30 |

| The Indigo Girls move to Hollywood Records for this their most recent release and it is a good one. This album has more range and breadth than many of the band's more recent releases with soft acoustic songs balanced by energized rockers. I think this ranks right up with the girls all time best. They seem invigorated and inspired 20 plus years into their career. I like pretty much every song on the disc, but my favorites include the opening two tracks, the rocking "Pendulum Swinger" and "Little Perennials". In the middle of the album the girls do one of the best rock tracks of their career with "Rock N Roll Heaven's Gate". The track features pop star Pink on additional vocals and her gruff wailing voice fits with the girls harmony's perfectly. It is a great song, and I am sure comes across really well live. "Money Made You Mean" is another good one, and I also think "Dirt And Dead Ends" is one of the albums best. If you are an Indigo Girls fan and maybe gave up on them after some of their more recent lackluster efforts you need to check this one out. It is a very nice return to form. |

Not their best Submitted on: 2008-02-25 |

| I love the Indigo Girls, but I have to say that I found this album pretty much unlistenable. And I really wanted it to be good. It's not the music (which is pretty standard Indigo Girls sound, fine by me, but nothing that you haven't heard before); it's the lyrics, which mostly remind me of the sort of thing that you'd write in high school. At best. Compare this to an album like Rites of Passage... well, basically, there IS no comparison. |
