 A LIVE GOSPEL ALBUM, UNCUT, IN THE RAW, IN A LITTLE WOODEN CHURCH, SOMEWHERE IN THE SOUTH, WOULD HAVE WORKED MUCH BETTER

| What we get here is a mix 'n' match collection of Contemporary Gospel, and a handful of Traditional Gospel songs. Trying to keep up with today's sound is NOT always the way to go! Worth-Buying-The-Album-For-Tracks: "Walk Around Heaven", "God Ain't Through" and "Walking Away". |

While the title, The Gospel According to Patti Labelle, may seem a bit contradictory of sorts, since Patti is known for singing secular (or "worldly") music, this CD is evidence that the Lord uses whomever He will to bring forth His message of love. Patti doesn't preach, she simply sings with her unique fervent, and seemingly heartfelt effort, songs of God's love. I've listened to this CD at least 100 times, and I haven't tired of it yet (my kids have threatened to hide it from me).
My favorite song is "He Loves You", sung with J. Moss. It's a simple, touching reminder that no matter what your circumstances ... He still loves you. There's also a great song called "My Everything" sung with Wynonna Judd - yes, Wynonna can sing gospel with as much comfort and ease as she sings country music.
Patti did a great job collaborating with a number of artists on this CD such as Kanye West, and Mary Mary too. I've cried listening to this CD at times, and experienced true praise and worship from listening to these beautiful love songs.
To be honest, I was not a great fan of Patti's (secular) music, but I'm in awe of her talent on this CD. If you want to fall in love with Jesus or want a deeper relationship with the Lord, I believe this CD will take you there. |

| It was better than I thought it would be. I only bought it coz of the song "Walk around heaven". Ms LaBelle's a very versatile singer. |

| Ms. LaBelle takes gospel to another level with this CD. She makes you believe that she believes what she is singing about. I love the other voices she brings in on the songs. Love it!!!! Buy it!!! |

| The CD is good but there is one song that sounds like rapping. It just doesn't fit the rest of the CD. It's good to hear Patti doing gospel. |
