So Soulful Patti Submitted on: 2009-06-09 |

| This is a lovely album showcasing some of the finest singing Patti LaBelle has done. It is a romantic Valentine from a fine singer who has been entertaining us for decades. Her voice, her phrasing, her style -- all so captivating. No collection covering such a long career could include every fan's favorites, but this comes close. I am puzzled by the criticism by one fan that this album is too slow and lacks a change in tempo. It's called "Beautiful Ballads by Patti LaBelle." Emphasis on the word "ballads." The music is what you would expect it to be. |

| The title says it all! this album is another Valentines scam trying to con you out of your money! The songs individually are fantastic as are all Patti songs but this many slow songs shoild never be on the same disc like this EVER!!! The album does not have any real pictures of Patti(execpt one inside it think)! The cover is the picture of an ugly purple sick looking flower and Patti's name in a nice font. The albums tempo sureley put the mixer to sleep for a while which would explain the albums muffled sound! it sounds like it came straight from a record!!! Never though i'd see the day i'd rate a patti album so low!!!!!!! the sales are also BAD this album ranks at #76,000. The Ojays ballads CD (equally bad) is at #133,333! None of these albums according to billboard have sold more than 1,000 copies which for Patti And Gladys is astonishingly low for artists of their magnitude! Buy it if like me you just want to support Patti! |
