Se han dejado " That's The Way She Is " y "All Strung Out On You" para completar uno de los albunes " Philly " de los Persuaders con arreglos de Thom Bell y Phil Hurtt. Lo más increible es que siendo un producto Rhino, Atlantic, deberían tener los masters originales. ¿ Donde están ? Los temas del album Best Things That Ever Happened To Me ( 13,14,3,15,16,17 y 20 ) estan sacado de ¡¡¡ vinilo !!!. ¿ han perdido los masters ?.
Los temas " Once In A Lifetime Thing " y " Best Thing..." son MARAVILLOSOS. Vale la pena comprarse el CD solo por esas dos canciones y el temazo de 8:25 minutos " We're Just Tryng To Make It " |

 Weak sound quality on almost all tracks

| I fully support Rick H. Haag's review except one sentence. He writes that, apart from Thin Line...,the other tracks seem to be fine. Sorry, I don't agree. Put on your headphones and you will hear vinyl on almost all tracks. The only track that has obviously been transferred from mastertape is Some guys have all the luck. Sorry Warner / Rhino...not recommended. |

I purchased with excitement this CD by the Persuaders, because this selection has cuts missing from the so called greatest hits release. Happy to hear those cuts, especially "Some guys Have All The Luck." Simply because there were only the dull remakes available by the late Robert Palmer, and Rod Stewart, etc.
I have though a real sore point, this CD was not digitally formatted, or remastered. It sound as if they put on a record scratches and all, transfered it to a digital tape, and then burned the CD. I know not why the decision was made to take such a wonderful production and screw it up this way. I guess money was the goal, not quality. |

The Persuaders are still making great music in 2007, check out their critically acclaimed new album available from Amazon called "MADE TO BE LOVED" on It's Soul Time! Records - which features new, original songs from Richard Poindexter, who also co-penned "Thin Line", "Love's Gonna Pack Up", "Peace In The Valley of Love" etc. and a new version of "Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me" featuring Tony "Showtime" Riley. As well as original writer and arranger, Richard Poindexter, the album also features contributions from original member, Willie B.Holland who is pictured above. |
