Great Album When Compared or On Its Own Submitted on: 2009-03-06 |

| I have this album and several other Dimmu albums. After listening to them all on my ipod, this album really grew on me. Its awesome when stacked up against their previous work. If your new to Dimmu Borgir this would be the album that gets people interested for sure. |

A Black Metal masterpiece.... Submitted on: 2008-09-14 |

| Dimmu Borgir is my all time favorite band, and with music like this, they will always be. "In Sorte Diaboli" is my favorite album that i own. it combines wonderful but dark symphonic harmony mixed with the extremities of blasting heavy metal, to create the perfect Symphonic Black Metal sound. Another album i just can't get enough of. |

Not Bad Submitted on: 2008-07-01 |

| I bought this album about a year ago, being a fan of their previous work, i figured it'd be a no brainer to check it out. Now i listened to this album quite a few times before i could really give it an honest opinion. To be honest I thought it was ok. There were some good tracks like Heretic Hammer and The Chosen Legacy. But for some reason it didn't really grasp me like their earlier albums. The drumming and keyboard work was stellar, but the guitar work wasn't anything eye, or ear catching. If you are a die hard fan, its worth checking out, but if you are looking to get into Dimmu, get Stormblast or Enthrone Darkness Triumphant first. |

| Dimmu Borgir has managed to hit the nail on the head with this album. standout tracks on this album?: The Serpentine Offering is definitely a standout. in addition to YouTube, you can see the video on the Nuclear Blast website and on the DVD. you can see what went into the making of the video too. a plus for this album is that the keyboards do not drown out the guitar bits. one little complaint is that the lyrics were written backwards, so you would have to stand in front of a mirror to read them. otherwise, Dimmu has managed to offer a fine slab of metal (or two of them. another black metal band to check out is Bal-Sagoth, who is on Nuclear Blast subsidiary Candlelight and yet another is Satyricon. I hope Dimmu Borgir comes out with another masterpiece. |
