| I originally purchased this album for my daughter since I am not a fan of American Idol. Out of curiosity, I listened to her copy, and became a total fan ever since. This young lady is a real gem! |

Mandisa's first single deserves many more than 5 stars. I would give it more like 20 if that were possible. Mandisa sounds fantastic on both selections on this single. Her voice is powerful, clear, and very commercial. The songs are the same. Though they are technically Christian by nature, they definitely have crossover appeal. The songs are not preachy, but offer a sense of hope and promise when the pressures of the world (and all of its' emphasis on phyiscal beauty, wealth, shallow and superficial things) begin to weigh on one. Mandisa strikes a solid home run with this release!!! I highly anticipate her first full CD release in July! (Beyond Mandisa's release, I highly recommend Kimberley Locke's new CD, "Based On A True Story." That entire CD is excellent; one of the best CD's to come from an American Idol alumnus yet.)
