I keep coming back to this album., April 26, 2012
This review is from: Post War (Audio CD)
I first discovered M. Ward through "Chinese Translations" from this album. I loved (and still love) the recursive narrative structure of the song, and the music was elegantly inventive. But for some reason, I didn't give the rest of the album much of a chance at first. But I liked CT so much that I kept listening to it. Later, I bought a She & Him album, not knowing that he was the "Him". His guitar work was so interesting and his voice so arresting, that I went back and popped Post-War back in the CD player. This time, it hit me at just the right place, and I have not been able to stop listening to M. Ward since. Now when a new album comes out, I revisit all my M. Ward music, but this is the one that I come back to with the most excitement over and over. Well written songs, a smokey friendly voice, great guitar work, and an off kilter point of view all make this music worth listening to and inviting into your head. This guy is the real deal.

Its a blast, December 28, 2010
Amazon kept recommending this album but I wasn't interested and for a long time I'd avoid ever listening to M. Ward till this year and all I can say is I was wrong for not listening sooner. Post-War is a fun record that grows on people if you just play it from beginning to end, I cant recommend it enough.

awesome, July 12, 2010
You can't go wrong with M. Ward, especially with what I consider his best album. His music only sounds better on vinyl.

AMAZING!, June 4, 2009
This review is from: Post War (Audio CD)
This is about as close to a perfect album as possible. Two of the songs have amazing music videos online to go with them, too.

"Chinese Translation" is an awesome song. If you like Wilco, you'll probably like M. Ward. Matt Zarnstorff

Fades from memory quickly, October 4, 2007
This review is from: Post War (Audio CD)
I really enjoyed this album at first. It was a fun little album. Months later, though, I barely even remember it exists. What was once my favorite song from the album is barely memorable. For those who like the annoyingly popular "guy and a guitar" style, maybe this is for you. I'm not into that style, so am bored of this album.

can't listen songs to on computer, August 4, 2007
This review is from: Post War (Audio CD)
Did anyone else try to burn their Post War CD to their computer only to have a crappy video come up for Chinese Translation? It won't even allow me to listen to the songs from the CD on my computer, just watch the dumb video. Please comment if you have the same experience.
