GG A COUNTRY ROCK GOD! Submitted on: 2008-12-16 |
|
| On this release GG brings back the bad and dangerous to country music.GG is the perfect person to sing of life's hard times and the low road of sorrow, suffering, drinking and hard living.Stand out track is the cover version of Warren Zevon's 'Carmelita', which in my opinion, is better than the original.Musically it sounds a bit like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash mixed with the truck driving music of Dave Dudley. |

GG's joint best album & the blueprint for Outlaw Country!! Submitted on: 2008-08-22 |
|
| Into Hank Williams III and the Outlaw Country movement? This album is where it all began - the first ever amalgamation of genuine punk rock attitude with genuine country music - and one that remains unsurpassed to this day. After years of DIY recordings in someone's garage with a beat-up old tape player & a few bottles of Beam, GG actually went into the studio for this one - and it shows! And he is actually SINGING again (arguably the first time since his other best album - "Always Is Was & Always Shall Be" - recorded with the Jabbers). GG's lyrics (composed in prison) also show him at the top of his game, with the trademark obscenities at a minimum, but without losing any of his trademark directness & rage. Originally released in '92 by Vinyl Retentive, this re-release is from the guys who put out the original, on their NEW label: [...] - One of Hank III's all-time faves, this is highly recommended to all punk, country & GG Allin fans. You won't be disappointed. Five stars!! |

Best of the Worst!! Submitted on: 2008-03-26 |

| GG was nothing more than what he claimed to be... a musical terrorist. This album showed there may have been some untapped talent no one knew about... including GG himself. The tracks on the album are rough, but not as bad as his other work. With some great songwriting and a decent cover of Zevon's Carmelita, this one should shock everyone! His true fans get to see a talented, almost softer side of GG. And people who hated him, well... they still hate him but may be able to respect him after this. I listen to it over and over again and will never get sick of it, especially Outskirts of Life. |

The Best Of GG ALLIN! Submitted on: 2008-03-14 |
|
This CD has been long awaited and it definetly lives up to the hipe! It has about 12 tracks and each one is well written and thought out. It has some great back up vocals and great guitar. It has about 2-3 tracks on it that GG wrote with the Murder Junkies, but they are much better quality on this CD. It is for sure one of the best GG albums and I am very pleased with it.
