 Great Show, but fans in the US beware!

There is something important about this DVD that Amazon does not tell you. It is in PAL format, which means that it WILL NOT play in standard US DVD players. The image will be scrambled. DVDs need to be in NTSC format to play in US DVD players. Unless you have a large screen computer with great speakers, you may not want to buy this DVD. It is diappointing to me that Amazon does not include this information for those of us who are inexperienced at buying inported DVDs. I have been waiting for this one to be available in the US for over two years, and the fact that I have to watch it in my lap top rather than my large screen stereo TV would have been less frustrating if I had been prepared for it.
The show itself is great, especially from Gov. Did Nothin on, when the band really got warmed up. It is also fun to see the song performed with all parts as on the album by the guest musicians at this show. "Ocean" is as amazing as ever. Unfortunately, watching this has only saddened me more that John Butler has decided to replace his band memembers. I hope these talented musicians do not fade from the music scene, especially Mike the drummer, whom I was lucky to meet at a show in CA. |

| Lacks the energy and musicianship of a live JBT show. The songs vary little from the studio release, lack the trademark jams JBT is famous for and completely ignores the great older music(except for Ocean). The bonus live DVD that used to be sold with "Live at St. Gallen" or "Sunrise Over Sea" is light years better! |

| An absolutely tremendous concert by a fantastic performer. John and the band really get a groove going amongst themselves and their audience. If you know JBT you know the playlist but the guitar playing is out of this world and they play all the hits. I also really enjoyed the extras especially the busk-off. Absolutely hilarious!!! John thumbs his nose at "The Man". Hard to believe a man trying to bring music and a message could almost be arrested! Please buy this DVD and you will not be disappointed. It is also well filmed and enjoyable to watch. |
