In comparison with other CD's from Trisha this one falls a bit short. However she is still for me the best female country singer. I just love her voice.
I DID NOT ORDER THIS ITEM

AN ORDER FOR THIS CD WAS "MAGICALLY" GENERATED WHEN I SIMPLY VIEWED A TRISHA YEARWOOD VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. THE CREDIT INFO WAS GRABBED OFF OF MY AMAZON.COM ACCOUNT BY THE VENDOR--VERY SCARY! I CONTACTED AMAZON, THE VENDOR AND MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO REJECT THIS ORDER.

I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM AMAZON ALTHOUGH I SENT EMAILS AND MADE PHONE CONTACT W/ A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. THE CHARGE WAS REVERSED BY MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I RETURNED THE UNOPENED MERCHANDISE TO THE VENDOR AND HAD A NEW CREDIT CARD SENT TO ME.

I DOUBT IF I WILL EVER ORDER FROM AMAZON.COM AGAIN.
Trisha nails it!

Trisha Yearwood is one of the few artists that started off as a huge hitmaker, but continues to record and have midling hits because her song choice and her vocals are among the best in Nashville. Not every artist can pick great music througout their career, but even more so, not many artists can save a weak song by shear musicality, and Ms. Yearwood does just that.

What makes this cd great is that Ms. Yearwood mines songs, not for their hit potential, which could happen anyway, but because she has become an artist who wants to present an album that is artistically sound, from her band and back-up singers (Jim Lauderdale, Jon Randall, Keith Urban, and Jessi Alexander), or picking songs from such heavy weights as Matraca Berg and Keith Fundis. Trisha can afford to pick out the best musicians in country music. Like her predecessor, Patty Loveldss, she just gets better and better, and never hits a false note.

The opening track, the title of the cd, is a rollicking number that proves that Trisha can handle a demanding up tempo song and still show expression and and grit. Following that is the hit "This Is Me You're Talkin' To," which could have been featured on any of her other cds, except that the maturity of the vocals shows her growth. There is no need for her to shout the lyrics or sing riffs to be effective. It is gorgeous in its simplicity and packs an emotional whallop. "They Call It Falling For a Reason" is also an upbeat number that works thanks to great production and Trisha's velvety voice. "Nothin' Bout Memphis" is another stellar ballad that you wonder how she is able to sort through such great songs to find the perfect match for her.

Her masterpiece of the cd comes from in the form of "The Dreaming Fields." Such a beautiful, haunting lyric, full of nostalgia about another place and time that does not sound hokey thanks for the craftmanship of the songwriter, great lyrics, and an understated vocal from Trisha that builds to a crescendo at the precise moment in the song. Bravo I say.

"Cowboys Are My Weakness" also benifits from great production and solid songwriting to tell of a love story about a man rough around the edges, who also cleans up well so she can take him to meet her parents. The vocal is fun, and she slides into the notes effortlessly. "Help Me" is another great ballad. Another great Trisha jewel.

Whatever Trisha chooses for a project in the future, there is no doubt that she will continue to present to us more great music, and if radio chooses not to play it over the overrated Taylor Swift and Gretchen Wilson, well, her fans will flock to it because of its excellence.
One of Trisha's Best!!

I have always been a great fan of Trisha Yearwood. I was not too impressed with her last CD "Jasper County." But I decided to buy this one anyway and see what it was like. This is an amazing cd that I love. It is back to the old "Trisha" style of music. A great mixture of up-beat and slow songs. Buy it, you will love it!!

When the single HEAVEN, HEARTACHE AND THE POWER OF LOVE was released you could tell that Trisha Yearwood had grown even more as a singer. There was an underlying new special something to this track. She has always been an amazing vocalist but on this track we saw her immense range, great emotional delivery plus a hats off to gospel while remaining country true. Our lady seems settled in here life - obviously her marriage is bringing much happiness and it shows.

This cd is the most cohesive she has done in years. Today many artist are turning country or claim to be country while doing country pop but Trisha is pure country thru and thru. It is in her soul and it comes out in her music. What's nice here is how the ballads, story songs and uptempo numbers are perfectly laced together. And she seems to be having more fun than ever on the country rockers here. Story songs have always been a perfect way for Trisha to utilize all her vocal skills and the standouts here are NOTHIN BOUT MEMPHIS and THE DREAMING FIELDS. With the ballads here her voice soars as her full range is put to expert use. Standouts are THIS IS ME YOU'RE TALKING TO, HELP ME with the strikingly beautiful SING YOU BACK TO ME hauntingly bringing the set to a close. The uptempo standouts are so much fun here. The title track, COWBOYS ARE MY WEAKNESS and NOTHIN ABOUT YOU IS GOOD FOR ME will have you tapping away. I would love to see her sing these live.

I'm very happy cowboys are her weakness and hope she and her particular cowboy are very happy. Her personal life seems to have helped bring her best set in a long time.

Highly recommend.
