Poor Old Son House being Falsely Accused! Submitted on: 2009-07-17 |

That Charles Aubrey review has gotta be a joke! But then again, he also had the gall to give this fantastic CD a 2, so it makes me think he's just seriously off. Since Son House began recording in the 1930's, some 12-15+ years before Page & Plant were born, maybe he could have figured out that those Zeppelin guys are the most well-known plagiarists???
That Aubrey dude should think as carefully as he listens |

Old Time Blues Submitted on: 2009-01-14 |

| I bought this as a gift for my grown son who is an accomplished guitar player but was interested in some of the old time renditions. |

| For all those pursuing deep blues this is essential listening. Sound quality is excellent. Guitar playing is rough and ready by modern technical standards, but hey - that's the way it is - all feel. Vocals are stunning. Great to hear his homage to Patton's 'Moon going down' -'Empire State Express'. This is your chance to hear real deep delta blues sans the crappy dynamics of 78RPM recordings. If only more of the old Delta players had survived long enough to be able to be re-recorded with such quality. |

plagiarism? Submitted on: 2008-06-11 |

| I just listened to this CD. If you listen carefully, you'll notice that this dude stole a lot of riffs from old Led Zeppelin records. |
